Must have for Samsung G9
This is the real deal. At first glance I thought it was the exact same bracket that the HX arm came with, and it basically is. Although if you inspect this HD Pivot there are 2 bracket screws and extra piece on the back (see close up pic). This allows the arm to actually hold my Samsung G9 up AND adjust. When I installed the standard pivot bracket it would not hold up my Samsung at all. I was not happy about buying a $330 arm just to buy another $75 bracket ($65 on sale) but what can you do, this is the only option to use with the Samsung G9.Do not hesitate buying this add on for the Samsung G9 and HX monitor arm, its worth every penny and now my set up is complete.

Its what I needed
Upgraded from CRG9 to Odyssey G9 1000r, was very disappointed that my previous tilt mechanism wouldn't hold it. Was skeptic that this one would hold it as well but some other reviews helped ease my mind. Needless to say, if you have the Odyssey G9 this is exactly what you need for the ergotron arm. Hope this helps, if it did give me a thumbs up!

Expensive but flawless for g9
Very solid. Big chunk of metal and a huge spring. It is really just the spring in this that is built to handle the weight of the monitor. you wouldn’t have to deal with this at all if the pivot was indexed instead of a smooth joint.Considering this is pretty much just for the odyssey g9 I was surprised at how tricky it was to align the holes for the bolts, and how short the bolt threads were. It was also tricky to align the mount to the arm given how heavy the monitor is, so a second person came in handy.

Not G9 57” compatible.
Sent back. Not capable of supporting G9 57”.Ergotron made promises about a pivot piece that would be compatible but instead made a whole new arm.I am not shelling out another $400 for a heavier duty arm.Bought a Montek for $84 that works fine.Ergotron needs to do better.Make that heavier pivot!

Necessary for an ultra wide monitor
The pivot works great and the installation is very simple. It’s difficult to buy this part by itself now, so be aware that ergotron sells the same arm kit but with the HD HX pivot already included. Get that one instead of having to buy a second piece.

Should have been included with the arm.
I'm glad this solution is available but It's obnoxious to me that I need to pay extra for a replacement part to support an Odyssey G9. I basically threw away the "regular-duty" pivot that came with the arm. This part should just be standard with arm.Worth it in the end. I guess I really can't be upset with spending an extra 100 bucks when I dropped a couple thousand on a monitor. It works exactly like it should.

Rock solid.
Great product save for one thing. With a heavy monitor attached this is nearly impossible to remove. You have to find some way of supporting the weight of the monitor then remove the smaller bolts attaching the monitor itself. You would think the monitor would just lift off with this kind of mount, but the stress binds it. Maybe some graphite lube before mounting the monitor?

Holds th 49 inch G9 like a champ
No more monitor "drooling", now I can adjust the tilt and it will stay where I set it 100%. No need to over tighten anything, just set it and it will do it's thing. Only con is that the tilt range is greatly reduced compared to the default pivot, but unless you want extreme tilt angles, it will meet the expectations of 99% of users.
