I'm done searching for a decent key chain flashlight now!
What a great EDC mini flashlight. I've had MANY key chain flashlights before and not a single one is even close to the quality of this Gerber one. I already have the mini Gerber knife zipper pulls on my jacket zippers, so I keep this on my key chain. I need it more with my keys anyway. The light is bright and strong. Battery life has been great. The on/off button is big and easy to use. I would imagine the bottle opener works just fine as the metal frame to this whole thing is stiff and has not bent up with all the abuse it's taken so far. I wear my keys on a hanging belt clip, so this things gets sat on and banged around ALL day long.Gerber makes FANTASTIC products, period.

Great tool!
I specifically love just how bright the light is. Because it is small, you might think its like one of those dim little pen-lights, but this little tool lit up my entire hallway in pitch-black dark like my princeton-tec headlamp. The rubber on the inside helps keep the water out, and this is specifically nice for people who like wet sports like kayaking, snowmobiling, rafting, etc. who occasionally need a light, and the large push-button that activates the light makes it easy to use for people wearing gloves. The rubber also helps grip the battle cap when using as a bottle opener but the metal frame keeps the cap from tearing up the rubber. I really love with the Gerber GDC series how you can detach the tool and yet be able to get in a wreck on the Daytona 500 without the locking mechanism breaking. Overall 5/5 and I would recommend this for anyone who needs a small, reliable light that is easy to access.

Great for me!
I wanted a small combination flashlight + bottle opener on my keychain. This fits the bill, perfectly. It's small, that's good. It's bright. When I get to my cabin at night, it lights the driveway nicely. When I go inside my cabin, it opens my beer, quite nicely. It has plenty of metal in the construction, so I don't worry about it opening my 100th bottle of beer someday. If I had anything negative to say about construction, it's that the nylon web strap that holds the metal housing onto the plastic clip, well, that nylon is slightly frayed after one summer of use. Maybe in a year or two, I'd worry about that strap breaking. The other concern is no problem for me... This thing is short. It does not provide enough leverage to make opening a bottle of beer easy for someone with gentle hands. There is less than 3/4" of metal behind the lip of the bottle opener, and that makes for poor leverage. I'm kinda oafish, so it's fine for me. But as bottle openers go, this one is less easy than others..For comparison's sake, I used to own the Nite Ize 'GetLit' caribiner bottle opener LED light. That item was much bulkier, less bright, and the switch broke after a year. However, because of the extra metal, it was easier to use as a bottle opener. Also, that one was easier to hang on stuff, like the loop inside my tent, when camping..Personally, I greatly prefer this Gerber GDC light.*** Update added 3 years later.I'm still using this thing. I have changed the batteries once, and I'm thinking now about changing them again.I was right, the strap frayed and broke after 2 years of tenuous service. I replaced it with a narrow shoestring, keeping the same plastic clip that shipped with this. And over 3 years, I have now opened 100 beers with it. It looks great. This product has decent longevity.

Another great gerber product
This gadget comes in handy. I am replacing a old bottle opener I had on my keys. The light is awesome, I work graveyard so I am a night owl and use it often. The bottle opener is made of sturdy metal and feels pretty light. I do wish it was a little bigger so I can get a better grasp on it. This bottle opener comes with a nylon loop to attach onto whatever you want so just be careful not to rip or tear it. Its also capable of coming off from the plastic attachment making it easy to share with your friends or family. Thanks for reading!

$12 dollars of "you've got to be kidding me"
i purchased this item in a bundle with the Gerber GDC Money clip, not really paying attention to the price or the actual size of the item. This things biggest plus is that....it can attach to a zipper or loop? The light on this item is akin to those crappy keychain lights you get at trade shows or cons that have company logo's on them...have to hold it down and not very bright (like me for not paying attention or researching). The bottle opener works like it should..i mean its a bottle opener. its only downside is the size of the item doesn't make it the most efficient bottle opener. What really makes this item fit in the "you've got to be kidding me" category is its price. almost 12 bucks!? for a light and a bottle opener?! i have a gerber dime that can do 9 things including opening a bottle minus a light and it only cost me 8 bucks! Gerber really? 12 bucks? what were you thinking?! what was i thinking?! apparently i wasn't, that or my love for new gadgets blinds me to obvious issues...which i think makes this an addiction...i should get help.

Gerber light bottle opener, bad customer service
I had been looking for a tool like this for some time and settled on the Ferber product since I had used Gerber products several times before. I liked the product right off, since it worked very well. But, within the first 24 hours of owning it, the nylon strap that holds the light onto the string became so unraveled that I had to cut it off. I tried contacting Amazon and Gerber about the product, trying to get another one or a refund, and neither company returned my request. So i just gave up and gave it to my 4 year old to play with the flashlight.

small on size big on features
How cool. A light to find your beer then an opener to pop the top. I purchased this with the gerber bear grylls micro light. Both have a home on pack zippers within easy reach when at camp and give enough light for those midnight camp forays into nature. Small enough to be negligible in weight but useful that is a great accessory.
