I like this dye
While I didn’t really like how it made my hair feel, it did make my hair look darker than any other had. So I definitely recommend as long as the color is what matters most to you

100% yes
this will be my hair dye until i die. makes a pretty dark purple that fades to this reddish tone. very strong red undertones, so keep that in mind. it is very strong smelling. make sure it’s plenty ventilated in the place where you’re dying.to the young people dying their hair: hair dye will stain grout and some tile, so be cautious when applying it in your parent’s house. if it gets on the counter or floor, wipe it up asap. stay punk 🤘

This is great - but pro's opinion
So I am a licensed hair dresser but I had NO time to get to the store to pickup my normal redken. I like an intense blue black and this delivers. IN fact, in might even switch to this for my own hair. Here is the trick from a licensed professional - this is BLACK. you do not need to LIFT your normal hair color to deposit - use 10 volume crème developer (from sally's for non professionals), process 45 minutes for grey hair, 30 minutes for non grey, and wash out. do NOT USE 30 volume on your hair unless you are going MUCH lighter.

Does not last
I bought this color thinking I would use my developer and have purple roots for a couple of inches and the rest would be pink. It worked out fine an application, nothing out of the ordinary because I've used the magenta version of L'Oreal for about 6 years. But the violet, it seems to smell a little worse to get that violet color I suppose but it also didn't last. Washing it out was bad enough because after application I let it sit for about an hour because I know my roots, and then it's soaked into my entire head. So now my hair is two different shades of purple which was not the intention. I've done this style with various colors in the past and it has always been successful, you think this new Violet shade that I've never used before is the only time it's ever not worked. In my next wash no, not even a deep clean but just straight up initially getting my hair wet to wash it I lost 50% of the color and this is supposed to be a semi-permanent dye. I can't think that the recipe is very much difference between magenta and violet but it was and it was a disaster of a disappointment. The purple has almost no staying power whereas with the magenta it's a struggle to lose color!

Bold color, good gray coverage, maintains bright and rich color for weeks.
My favourite color was discontinued and Loreal came out with this line specifically for dark hair and I think the Black Plum is my new favorite. Easy to mix with developer and apply. Hair waa shiny and soft with minimal conditioning. Good gray coverage and bright purple red in the sun brings the drama. I've gotten several compliments.

Fades to dark blue
I do really like this black, my only issue is it faded fast for me to a dark blue. My hair was originally bleach blonde, I filled it in with an orange red temperary color before doing this black. I got a lot of compliments on it. I mixed it with 10 volume developer. When I was dying my hair, I got some on my ears, neck and forehead, even a little on the bathroom counter. But to my happy surprise, it came off pretty easy. I used a little coconut oil, rubbed that in, then washed it off with soap and water on a wash cloth. All in all, I do like this dye. But I think when I run out I'm going to try one with less blue in it. When the sun shines on my hair, it just looks Navy blue.

Excelent
Without a doubt, this is my favorite dye, I've been using it for several years, it doesn't abuse the hair and gives it a lot of shine and softness

Thorough review
3 stars because I was hoping for some blue in my hair. I started with a medium brown hair, I purchased the black sapphire. With this supposedly being for dark hair, I was excited and couldn't wait to use it. To mix you use a little over 4 tablespoons of 30 Volume creme developer for one box, I posted a photo of the brand I used. The directions for mixing arent very clear so I figured I'd post how to mix it to make it easy for others. I have short hair and only needed 1 box of color. You will need to buy a mixing bottle or bowl to mix it in, I chose bottle because it makes it easier to mix and apply. You wanna make sure you mix it well and FULLY saturate all of your hair thoroughly, coat it very well and let it sit 30 mins and after that rinse your hair until water runs clear then shampoo and condition with a color safe shampoo (no parabens or sulfates) because those wash the color out of your hair pretty quickly so make sure it's color safe. After that style as usual. I posted a photo of my hair after, the bottle I used after using, the color is a pretty dark blue but my hair didn't have any blue in it after coloring and was just black with a tiny bit of blue stain on my scalp. This brand does color very well as long as you get the right amount of color for your hair length and thickness and make sure you use the right amount of developer. I wanted to be as thorough as possible with my review because when I read reviews I always wish ppl were more descriptive.
