Depends on size of bead. There are different size needles and being plastic they do give a little. I use them for small plastic canvas.

Yes, plastic ones are especially suitable for children to use to protect their safety. Can pass through beads such as popcorn and cranberries

Never tried felt, but these needles are very stable going through plastic webbing with various yarn widths
