Great brush. Adds volume

While visiting my daughter recently, I asked if I might try her brush as mine did not do much more than pull my hair out. It was love at first sight ! It is lightweight, has soft bristles, and a retractable sectioning tip. Her brush was the NT-S40 and was too large for my hair, but it still did a wonderful job on my mane. This is such a unique brush. I have shoulder length, very fine hair and I love the shape of this brush to help get a little bit more volume at the roots of each section. I wouldn't recommend this shape of a brush if you are new to using a round brush for drying and styling your hair as it does require a little thinking. You also can't spin it in your hair like a regular round brush. This brush is like a combo of a smaller diameter brush that I can use for my shorter sections and a larger brush that I need for my longer sections. I can use the corner and slide it down the hair with the dryer to get more of a curled / bended look, or I can start with the corner at the root, and then rotate slightly as I slide down the flat end. I am able to get a nice smooth straight end on each pass.Using a large round brush is hard for me because my hair is so fine and it's just harder to control. Using a smaller brush is easier, but you will get more of a curl at the end. I would then have to go in and straighten out those ends with a flat iron which took more time and also subjected my hair to more heat. Not any longer! I was skeptical about this brush but I'm so glad I tried it out. The 1.5" size was perfect for me as my hair is between chin and shoulder length.

At my recent haircut my hairstylist used this brush to dry and straighten my hair with. I was curious about it because I did need a new round brush and because it wasn’t round-it’s square. She said since I don’t like my ends curled under she thought it would help achieve the straight look I like. My main issues with this brush is that the bristles aren’t long and that makes it hard to add resistance to the hair to pull it straight. So what my hairdresser did-which I thought I wasn’t suppose to do-was put the dryer nozzle right against the hairbrush as she pulled it through my hair. She said this is ok as long as I keep the dryer moving and not hold in place. Prior to learning this I had been really making an effort when I blow dried to keep the nozzle at a minimal distance and to not having it directly touch my hair. Ugh. The brush works well-it makes my hair dry more quickly because of the vent holes and it’s lightweight and comfortable to hold.

This square brush is better than a round one for giving a little more lift. Purchased 1.5” dia brush for medium length hair.

This brush handles perfectly with my hair. My hairdresser recommended this brush and it leaves my hair just the way I like it. It handles very well.
