Very happy customer
These are one of the best investments I have ever made. Batteries last a long time, noise canceling works great, and they seal over my big ears very well and are very comfortable. I also stupidly left them on the wheel of the tractor and of course ran them over…. when I picked up the pieces I could still hear my music, so I popped everything right back together and they still fully function!!!

wonderful BT hearing protection
I've had these headphones for almost a year and I love them. I highly recommend this product, though it does have a few warts that prevent it from getting a 5-star review.Pros:* extremely long battery life (most of a year for my hobby weekend usage)* comfortable to wear for extended periods of time* decent audio quality (I mostly listen to podcasts)* reliable connectivity* the external sound amplification works well. when it's quiet in the shop, it's totally possible to have a conversation as if you're not wearing hearing protection at all. when it's loud, well, nothing can help that.Cons:* the threshold at which the headphones consider outside noise to be "too loud" and cut out the amplification is a bit higher than my preference, i.e. it allows the noise to be louder than I'd like it to be. Sometimes, if I'm running my shop vac, that isn't loud enough to cut off the mic and so I'm getting blasted by the sound. For most of my other tools, it works as expected.* sometimes when first powered on, it will set the phone's volume control to maximum without warning. this is _way too loud_ and very startling, since it happens 5-10 seconds after the audio starts playing! I think it happens only when there's already something playing on the phone when it connects. This is a silly little firmware bug that 3M really should fix.* the external sound amplification setting defaults to the highest level when you power the device on. I wish it would remember the previous setting. I like to keep it on 1 or 2 (of 4). Anything over 2 feels louder than not wearing the headphones at all.* the mic isn't good. people on the other end of phone calls report they can't hear me well, even when there isn't background noise. this is weird, since presumably it's the same mic that is used to amplify external sounds, which sound fine. That might seem like a lot of cons, but really they're all nits. The core functionality of the product -- hearing protection, bluetooth audio, and being able to hear when there isn't background noise (so you don't have to take it on and off) all work very well. I'm happy with the product and would purchase it again. I think, at least at the time I bought this, it's the best BT hearing protection on the market.

Liking it
I am a professional landscaper and figured I should try these out. So far, I am glad bought them. They do an excellent job at keeping out noise, but the thing I love is you can hear what is going on around you like they aren't even on. I never realized how much I cannot hear with the regular earmuffs. With these, I can hear everything going on around me, but nothing is overpowering. So yes, you can hear all the equipment, but you can also hear someone walking towards you while you are on a blower, and stop before you see them. Or before you blow clippings on them because you were not aware of them. I can even have conversations. The phone feature works for me. Just a simple push of a button and I can talk to my boss while operating a 60"mower. Sometimes it gets a little splotchy as if the software is figuring out what sounds to block, but it still works far better than trying to even hear a phone ringing on a mower. I mean, really, it's not a big deal shutting down the mower to take a call from the boss. At least now I answer the call and don't come back to the truck with 5 missed calls and a mad boss.As for music, I do not have a clue. As a foreman, I am the only one on my crew that carries a company phone. All personal phones live in the glove box while onsite, and I do not take my ear protection home. It stays in the work truck. The Bluetooth seems to be pretty good. I never had an issue connecting, and I have even forgotten my phone (in the cupholder of my bigger mower parked by the street) and still had connection in the backyard on my 32". So it seems good to me.Over all I like them.

Not quite right.
Expected better from a legacy brand like 3M. First impression was that they are well built and sturdy, actually liked the idea of standard AA batteries if the estimated 60hrs was accurate, but didn't get to verify b/c I couldn't really stand to use them. The biggest issue, and I would not have even thought to look for this until trying them, is that you can't turn off the active noise cancellation . You can adjust the pass-through level, but even at it's lowest, it created an echo/hiss baseline that was unnerving and distracting. I paired my phone for bluetooth audio in-put, hoping that might mitigate the distraction, but instead it added another audible buzzy layer to the mix. if you stop playback from your device, the interference continues for a few seconds and then also stops, just accentuating that it is in fact extra noise... With everything powered off, the ear-pieces are incredibly sound-deadening, which just made it more disappointing that the active audio components are so un-helpful. Also worth mentioning that they felt really tight, clamped on, not sure I would want to wear them very long at a stretch.
