As you would expect the mouse installs automatically. In use the mouse moves smoothly and precisely; clicks are clear, positive and quite loud (not an issue). The scroll wheel action is also smooth. The scroll wheel does not double up as a middle button; probably what you would want for gaming. The mouse cable is a decent length.Visually the lighting on the mouse is pleasant and not distracting, Whether the lighting can be turned off is unknown as no manual is provided. The four light options are controlled via the DPI buttons. However this means the light settings and DPI settings are not independent.All seven buttons are programmable. As there is no manual there are no instructions available. If you want to customise the buttons, there are plenty of free programs available on the internet.My game playing is mostly RPG and strategy. I played Age of Empires with the mouse out of the box i.e. on the default settings. I found the settings ideal. When non-gaming, the mouse performed equally well. I asked my son (a more serious gamer) to try the mouse. He played Counter Strike and was perfectly happy with the performance. Compared to his mouse at more than twice the price, the only real difference was his mouse being heavier.
