A lovely quality board book of a classic story about embracing our differences. Bought for my 1 year olds birthday, he loves turning the pages & listening to the story. I can imagine us getting a lot of use out of this book for years to come & it seems like it will withstand rough love from a toddler!

The media could not be loaded.  Being totally honest, I barely remember reading Elma as a child, and had completely forgotten the story by the time I came to buy it for my daughter. Eitherway, i remember now why it’s so timeless.The illustrations, are basic but beautiful and Elma’s patchwork colours were the biggest selling point for my daughter when she was younger than one, but then gradually becoming more interested in the other elephants and animals as she grew up. The writing is entertaining, especially for a toddler learning their colours and the giant ‘Boo!’ page is always anticipated with excitement!The moral of the story is also applicable to any age, helping to teach us that people love us for who we are, and our individuality is something to be celebrated , not covered up.

Great book for my granddaughter

I got this to give it my baby Grandson, to add to his collection of books (a child can never have too many books!)It is a classic story which most children love having read to them.

Purchase for my first grandson, a book I read to my own children when they were small and I will look forward to reading to him too

The book is really colourful and has a funny story. It offers the chance to play with voices while reading it to your child. Also a great opportunity to learn about colours and about humour. A great starting point for drawing projects. it can teach a child about the fact that there's no point in being sad, humour can make everyone relax.

My 3 year old great nephew just loves this book.

I love this book! I’m a retired elementary school teacher and I always had this book in my classroom and read it to my classes every year. The kids love it. It is funny and has a good message about being yourself. I ordered it because now I have a granddaughter. She’s three and loves this book!
