good quality and smooth finish
my first planer so can't compare it to anything else.it will save many hours of manual planing and produce a better finish that I could by hand.great quality as always with makita and a good weight for working with.the small lug at the back is a good addition to ensure the blade isn't in contact with a surface when not in use.great tool - recommended!

Superb
Bought to replace my 30 year old wired electric plane. Works great. Purchased the optional collector bag as using it indoors. Have done 8 doors so far and can say it is easy to use. Depth of cut easy to change and appears to be accurate. Reasonably light but 5a/h battery using with makes it heavier but lasts ages. Would probably be better with smaller battery and change more often. No cable makes much easier to use. Love it so far.

Easy to use planer
Brought this to plane some door's quickly and accurately. This planer was easy set up and to use. The finish it made was also excellent. Ideal addition to the Makita tools I already have.

Decent all round planer
It's a decent planer for light weight duties it's ergonomically comfortable and packs a decent amount of punch however it might not be suitable for every carpenters needs as its maximum planing depth isn't the biggest and its rebate capability isn't all that. Its bigger brother might be the way to go if you require something a bit more heavy duty, its twice the price though but its brushless. Also if you buy the dust bag it does become a bit akward6

A real treat!
Gradually building up my collection of cordless tools and whilst I have a priority list of things, I am occasionally treating myself to a few new toys! This was a bit of an extra treat for me as I have a couple of corded planners and dont use them all day every day. However I wanted to give this a go and I am glad I did.Like all the Makita 18v range I have used so far, this is just great quality and a real joy to use and I already know that its going to make the jobs that I use it for so much easier when I am not scrabbling around for a plug.Seems to be powerful enough and seems to be a real decent build quality. All set up and ready to go and so very happy with this so far.Ive suck a 5amp battery on it and that powers it just great.Very happy with this, and yes, a three year warrenty also whn youcomplete the details on-line.
