RØDEWS2 Pop Filter Wind Shield

Perfect for a Rode NT2A. I initially bought a cheaper generic foam windshield which I wasn’t impressed with. Considering that this genuine Rode windshield only cost £3 more I wish I’d bought this in the first place. I would recommend this for the Rode NT2A and NT1A, and I imagine it will fit most other large diaphragm condenser mics perfectly.

To start off with, i was struggling to find a wind shield for my podmic the rode ws2 does not state whether it is compatible with the rode podmic or not, but i had to give it a go as i was using a cheap knock off windshield that barely covered the top of the microphone and can confirm its a snug fit for the podmic.i also noticed a difference in sound quality after fitting this windshield to my microphone.straight out the packet you can tell this ain't any normal windshield, this is made from quality and it really is a quality windshield.i'm happy with my purchase and in my opinion it is definitely worth the price tag.

Bought for my AT2040 and it fits like. glove and is very effective.

I use this on my Podmic, and it has a perfect fit. For the price, you could likely easily get a generic clone, but this has had zero issues, which I don't think is a guarantee with the clones. Although, I've noticed that having it all the way on actually still caused some issues with popping noises making their way through. Instead, I put it slightly up, leaving a small airgap between the windshield and the mic, which made all plosive noises practically disappear - I've shown a photo of this for reference.Overall, it's a great product - albeit pricey, and you get exactly what you need for the price, along with the security of RODEs customer support in the very unlikely case you'll have an issue with it.

At first it seemed expensive for some foam but it feels high quality and it's thicker than some of the cheaper options and will fit mics perfectly. It doesn't move around and genuinely is a good product. If you're on the fence, get it.

First impression it was more solid and 'prickly' than I expected, but it slid over my PodMic just fine.I'm only really wanting it to stop my spit getting in the mic, because I like to work up close, and I imagine, since it is quite dense, that will work fine.Haven't noticed any particular effect on the sound quality, but the PodMic has a built-in pop filter and isn't subject to 'wind' other than my breath, so hard to tell.Quite expensive for a wind shield, but seems a quality item that should stand up for years.

I chose this on the basis of positive write-ups by others who own Audio-Technica AT2020 microphones. It fits perfectly. The reputation of Røde sets any doubts to rest. In practice there is a tiny 'muffling' effect, but this is easily compensated for with a touch of high frequency EQ, or enhancement if you have that in your microphone pre-amp line. If you try hard it's possible to induce some capsule overload, but again in practice there's no problem with plosives or any jarring side effects. For reasons I'm not at all sure of, I prefer this to the standard gooseneck mounted pop filter. Highly recommended.

Als Besitzer des RØDE Kompletten Studio-Kits mit NT1 war ich auf der Suche nach einer Ergänzung, die meine Audioaufnahmen weiter verbessern würde.Der WS2 ist speziell für das RØDE NT1 Mikrofon konzipiert und passt perfekt dazu. Die Montage war denkbar einfach und schnell erledigt. Der Popschutzfilter erfüllt seine Aufgabe hervorragend und reduziert unerwünschte Atemgeräusche sowie lästige Plosivlaute effektiv. Dadurch konnte ich meine Sprachaufnahmen deutlich verbessern.Die Qualität des Materials ist ebenfalls beeindruckend. Der Schaumstoff des Popschutzfilters ist dicht und robust. Er passt sich nahtlos in das Gesamtbild meines Studio-Kits ein und vermittelt einen professionellen Eindruck.Allerdings gibt es einen kleinen Nachteil, den ich nicht ignorieren kann. Es gestaltet sich schwierig, den Popschutzfilter gründlich abzustauben da der Staub sich auf den Schaumstoff-Poren legt, was nicht ideal ist. Eine regelmäßige Reinigung ( ich halte es unter kaltem Wasser) ist daher erforderlich, um die bestmögliche Leistung des WS2 zu gewährleisten und damit es immer schön aussieht 😅 aber es braucht halt bisschen Trockenzeit.Fazit:Insgesamt betrachtet ist der RØDE WS2 mit Popschutzfilter eine perfekte Ergänzung zum RØDE Mikrofon. Er erfüllt seinen Zweck hervorragend und verbessert die Audioqualität meiner Aufnahmen erheblich. Der einfache Montageprozess und die hochwertige Verarbeitung sprechen ebenfalls für das Produkt. Der einzige Nachteil ist die Staubanfälligkeit.Ich kann den RØDE WS2 mit Popschutzfilter definitiv empfehlen, insbesondere für diejenigen, die bereits ein RØDE Mikrofon besitzen. Es ist eine lohnenswerte Investition.
