INSTANTLY APPEALING WITH NO FUSS
I thought I'd try it out to see how this instant coffee compares with the ground coffee used in cafetieres and espresso mocha pots. The result is that this 'Percol Expresso Noir' - if drunk from a small 70 ml espresso cup - is quite nice. The thing that has become confusing to me is the grading of numerical intensity that the labeling on many coffee products present us with these days. Is it still the caffeine potency or it it a guide relating more to the strength of taste now - and who regulates these things ? Well, this is graded at number 6, doesn't taste enormously strong, however it is definitely pleasant and not irksomely bitter on the palate. Maybe the caffeine level is subtle but I detect no kick - even though I'm noticeably more alert. Who knows what the number indicates - but I do like it, so maybe '6' is a grading of the intensity of it's appeal. It is nice and I will be buying this coffee again because it definitely possesses a blend of finely powdered instant coffee that I like.Eamonn

Gorgeous
Nice and strong, the best instant espresso, probably the best instant coffee I've had. Beautiful and just what I was looking for.

Absolutely scrumptious!
Came super quickly, but also it was far more tastier than I had imagined. The hints of chocolate were a surprise and really made a difference. I'll be ditching my normal instant espresso for this one in future for sure.

Great coffee, shame about the packaging
The new updated packaging shown on the Amazon listing is probably NOT what you get when you purchase this product. Mine came in the old jar with the green-printed matt paper label and black PLASTIC lid.The coffee itself is unchanged and delicious as ever, I've been buying this for many years and it is the only instant coffee I use. I drink exclusively Latte style and because the Percol Espresso Noir is a fine powder rather than granules, it dissolves beautifully in the steamed milk, gives a nice froth on the surface (or a beautiful Crema when made with water) and tastes every bit as good as any coffee shop Latte - at a fraction of the cost.I had been looking forward to buying my favourite coffee in a more eco-friendly and plastic-free container, which is also more aesthetically pleasing than the old jar.I can't recommend this lovely coffee highly enough, but have knocked off a couple of stars due to the misleading picture on the item description and my disappointment about the packaging - better luck next time, perhaps? 🤞🏻

Bought for the fourth time now will be buying it again in the near future Best coffee brand ever !
Great item have bought it for the third time now I like using it in baking as the granules are very fine so they dissolve easier than other brands and not to mention the coffee tastes so good with a dash of milk it’s the best I’ve ever had even better than Nescafé much better tastes similar to the skinny Starbucks latte love it !!

Dreadful
This is listed as Espresso Noir, but since the packaging description changed to Intense Espresso (with green on the label) the taste is very different and best avoided

Good coffee!
Strong, intense espresso that doubles as a regular coffee if you make it so - with actual crema that you can taste!I usually mix half a teaspoon of this (strength 6) with a teaspoon of Nescafe's Gold Blend Intense (strength 5). The resulting mixture is something unique and not too overpowering.
