Excels in every way.
I cannot believe this. You think you know yourself, until something comes along, to be dramatic, to enlighten you, so then you fall on your knees and thank the gods for bestowing you with such good fortune, only later, to curse them for keeping you in the dark for so long. Well, that's the story with these soundmagic earphones.I don't really like to write fine, happy reviews so quickly after receiving something. One always find the glossy shine of a new product wears off several months to a duller patina, but I can't contain the joy anymore. I'm utterly charmed by these. They'd better keep, or I'll be taking back my words.I was always one of those skeptics brought up on Apple's original in-earphones that came free with an iPod. You know, those genious ingenious misfits. But having broken my normal earphones for 'in-bed' use, and over-ear 'DJ' type things for daily use, I desperately needed something for both day and night. I've been lusting for noise-cancelling headphones, but their use for me is negligible. The design is still far too large and chunky for in-bed usage, and I'm hardly travelling or fighting outside noise like road-drilling or puerile fighting, travelling only, of course, to those happy sonic heights that are close to orgasmic delivered by my music. And I've noticed, far later than everyone else it seems, that average earphones are useless. One needs to turn up the volume to max when out and about to achieve a good volume due to sound leakage, and depending on their maker, the quality of music is compromised due to the frequencies, etc (all that technical jargon that one doesn't really understand.).I tried the DrBeats by Dre, and was converted by the noise-isolating feature of the in-ear design, and the quality of the bass (test out your heaviest track), but mostly, the design of the ear buds with their 6 different fits. But really, for that price, I could get two pairs of these. And these are superior save their noise-isolation feature. They deliver on several crucial points: sound quality, good enough noise-isolation, fit and comfort (5 or 6 fits), design and price. On the point of fit, don't worry unless you're an alien: one must fit. I worried myself ceaselessly, convinced none would be happy fit but they do, as well as my favourite, cosy, woolen jumper. A tip here, since we're all unique, is to mix 'n' match different sized earbuds in left and right ear, and depending on the time of day, your ear canal can change in size slightly, so you may need a different fit. Now, I keep all sizes handy for a quick change. As for design, impressive. (I chose the rose gold and black pair, these are just my colours fortunately.) Initially disenchanted with the fashionable twisted and glossy cord, I've conceded they do seem stronger than the usual wires that come with all earphones: only time will tell. It comes with a powerful, strong clip to position somewhere high so that your buds don't fall out easily; the bud is average sized, but not so large as to be uncomfortable in bed. And one appreciates the soft carrying pouch, enough to protect your buds when out and about. The winning feature for me is that the buds deliver a sound in bed that does not become muffled or occluded with a turn of the head in bed, like those Beats earphones mentioned above. I can also sleep on my side with them without the buds jamming in my my canal or becoming uncomfortable. One simply cannot find a comparable pair for this price, so much so, I'd pay more for them. You may find, like me you'll be getting them insured, and why not, if you appreciate and care for them. Naturally, with all purchases, find a retailer where you can try them on first. You never know, but you may be that rare thing with alien genealogy with misfit ears.Still, that does not mean I'm not craving those Bose noise cancellation things that I tried out in a department store. That may be something to save up for. All, in all, soundmagic more than suffices in the meantime.

Best Earphones for Under £30 | Sturdy Build | Natural Tone
This is the second pair of SoundMAGIC E10 Earphones I have purchased. I love them so much that I decided to get a pair to leave in work, so that I am never without them. The sound quality from these are amazing at this price point (£29.95). I used to be a lover of the Sennheiser CX 300 II Earphones which are of a similar price. But the E10 Earphones completely dominate in terms of quality.Even listening to MP3 320KBPS CBR files, the earphones perform well with a natural warm tone, clear mids and controlled highs. The bass reproduction is very good, perfect as it is for me, though some people may wish to increase the bass using an EQ.The cable is a 'braided effect' that doesn't tangle, ever! And the junction where the cable splits is a very sturdy feeling metal tube that hasn't degraded even with daily and admittedly quite aggressive use.The supplied earbuds fit me perfectly but you can always buy other universal sizes if you feel they aren't right for you. A nice touch is that the left earphone is marked with a blue gland between the cable and driver whereas the right is marked with a red one; of course there is also the classic L and R but the colour coded sides makes it so much easier.

Very good for price, but build is not great
When looking for in ear headphones, there are three things one should look at: the sound quality, the build quality, and the ratio of these two to the price. It is unsurprising therefore that I have already three pairs of these headphones. The sound quality is next to unbeatable for the <£100 price range for in-ears, with bass being punchy but not in your face, mids being warm yet clear, and highs being sweet and clear. The sound itself is very pure and undistorted, even at high volumes (tested on iPod touch, Google Nexus 4).The build quality is where these earphones fall short. As I mentioned, I have been through three pairs of these headphones within the space of 2 years, amongst trying other, more expensive pairs of headphones. The buds themselves are very solidly constructed in a metallic housing, and do not feel cheap. The filters in the earbuds, however have the tendency to fall out upon the removal of earwax from them with a cloth. This means I now have no filters in each earbud meaning I do have to worry about dirt entering the drivers and possibly compromising sound quality and functionality. The wire is also a little on the thin side, and any more stress than a little accidental tugging at the headphone jack can cause damage which is difficult to repair. This the reason for which I have had to chuck out two of these pairs already: The wire is too delicate and not durable. On my current pair. the metallic tube covering the headphone jack has come loose from the glue, meaning when I am trying to unplug the cable from my phone, I often pull the tube accidentally up the wire exposing the whole headphone jack. I can only see this leading to more problems in the future. But there must be a reason why I have kept coming back to these headphones? I have found that for my own tastes (Electronic & Trap music) these earphones sound brilliant. That is not to say that they do not suit other genres of music too, though. One thing I can promise though is amazing clarity, and for £30 there is not much more you could ask for!
