Recognizing the plights that ensnare us
Humans are enmeshed in fundamental uncertainties. Yet not all become fixated on the same uncertainty, and nor do all dwell in them in the same ways. Kantor identifies five of these core dilemmas (e.g. Am I alone in life or do I act in synchrony with nature and with others? Can the boundary between life and death be abided?) He finds traces of our encounters with them lodged in mind and body, seeding health and illness. Wresting grace is ever at issue. Recognizing the plights that ensnare us then allows for development of perspectives on how to better meet them.Bringing these enduring tensions to light is a significant contribution, certainly enough to recommend the book. Yet Kantor has more to offer, linking these dilemmas to the theoretical frameworks of traditional Chinese medicine and homeopathy. His creative insights into homeopathic remedies are a gift to readers now and well into the future.

Very difficult to understand
This book is not for someone who is simply a reader wanting to know more about the subject. It’s very hard to understand. It was so frustrating I actually gave up on it without finishing it. Full disclosure. Why is it that doctors that write books have to write it in language the average person can’t comprehend? I’m not stupid and am an avid reader. But this is way too technical and filled with jargon that’s confusing.I feel bad writing a bad review but I felt it was valid.
