Be aware that this is a first impression and not a long term evaluation. As a charity shop volunteer, I have used the big professional steamers many times and know how good they are at sprucing up tired looking clothes and have wanted one for home for a while now. The wife mentioned recently that one would be useful so I started to look around. The big ones, such as retail outlets use, come in at hundreds of pounds and I wasn't going to pay that. It was mainly the price that attracted me to this one, and being under no illusions - you usually get what you pay for, decided that for this price it was worth having a go and some time in the future, when this one gives up the ghost, based on how useful it has been, we could then replace it with a better model. It's slightly smaller than the picture makes it appear and build quality, though by no means poor, is in keeping with the price paid. Very easy to assemble and despite being Chinese, reasonably well written instructions (for a change). They claim that it's ready to use in approx. 45 seconds. I found that hard to believe knowing that the commercial models take a good quarter of an hour, but have to say that it was producing useable steam within twenty-five seconds - very impressive! The steam head is a good size and it delivers steam as promised and so does the job every bit as good as the big boys. It remains to be seen how robust it is and how long it lasts but first impressions are very good. Like any steamer, be sure to use it in a ventilated area, particularly if using it for any length of time or your walls will be dripping! The instruction booklet says, and I quote 'This product is a luxury vertical steamer model, suitable for households; hotels; clothing stores etc.' I don't feel it would cope with being in use all day as the charity shop ones are, but for home use and perhaps infrequent shop use (the rapid heat up time would be a definite plus here) I think it's fine. So the pros and cons. PROS - The price; if like us you are unsure as to how useful it will be, this is a good cheap option to find out with. Not an ugly unit if you have to have it somewhere it can be seen. Easy to set up and to fill the removable water tank. Vertical pole is telescopic and can be reduced in height either for use or storage. Two stage power setting, though we have so far only used it on full, presumably you get slightly less steam pressure on the lower setting? CONS - Seriously, nothing that really bothers me so far though the vertical pole is a bit lightweight and I would like the base to be heavier. It could be easy to pull it over.All in I would recommend this item. Obvious uses to replace or work along with a conventional iron. Great for breathing new life into jackets etc. And the wife informs me it's great for curtains when they are hanging and also for use in dress and quilt making.

Not too bad for the price. It does the job of getting out creases! The power cable is quite short. It heats up in about a minute. It is rather fiddly with having to clip on the item and taking it off because the hanger gets in the way. The pole isn't very stable. Looks like it is made from rather cheap materials. Overall I think it is a decent product that does the job it is meant to and would recommend it for someone on a budget.

Easy to set up. Heats up very quickly and looks good, but the garment holder is a bit flimsy.Works well on most garments, so overall pleased for the amount I paid.

Poor product very flimsy and after 2 months it no longer works. Very disappointed

Very fast in getting the right temperature. I used heavy duty industrial ones in charity shops, and for quality of steaming this is as good, for the fraction of price.

Bought this item around 1-2 months back. It does the job and gets creasing out very easy! Easy to use and assemble. However the product is made from very cheap material, not very sturdy and the wire is quite short so it is very difficult to iron long garments.
