Self adhesive works well, used as floor tiles, given four coats of yacht varnish to seal and give a hard finish.

the adhesive on these tiles is poor and is not really strong enough to hold them ...

Rubbish don't bother.
I bought some of these tiles from a different seller, they were slightly more expensive than these, peeled the backs and stuck them to the wall straight onto the (dry) previously emulsioned wall. This was a year ago and they've not budged. I use it to display the kids work on(we home educate) I bought these tiles, peeled the backs and stuck them to the wall just as I did the others and each time I leave the room then come back in, they are on the floor! Totally rubbish!! I read the sellers instructions and there's a long description about preparing the wall and using their primer...I didn't have to do that with the other tiles (nor do I want thick primer on my walls). So am disappointed. Choose another seller and pay a bit more.
