I really want to take one star away because there is only one function with this: One recording up to a minute long and that's it.You can record a message and rerecord it anytime at your leisure. It is chargeable with its included C charge cord.I can appreciate that the work that has gone into this toy for a parrot was very thoughtful. I believe it is very high quality and extremely durable with excellent material and workmanship.This product has captured every bit of a safe environment and interactive toy for your pet. I believe even the most destructive bird would not be able to damage this, not easily anyway.Nako, my African gray has been a little crazy wanting a baby. She had gotten really sick a year ago and almost lost her but after nursing her back to being better she came out of it with some bad habits and (mostly my fault) she was laying eggs and then staying on them forever and I hated to take them away but eventually I would have to do that.Recently she decided she was going to lay on a recorder that I had gotten for speech training! Right! She is crazy. When I saw this toy I thought this might cheer her up and boy did it Wow!There's no volume adjust on it either and the only way that you can control the volume is with your speech while you are recording your message so if you don't want it very loud you need to bring the voice down to it more of a whisper and if you wanted to be louder than obviously you have to put more voice into itShe is the neediest bird on the planet, spoiled rotten had to be petted yes petted constantly. She has not asked once for attention loving or hugging since I gave this to her, (now I'm the one begging her to let me hold her LOL )She loves and adores the fact that she can hear me in her cage anytime she wants with just a flick of the beak or a touch I like to believe that it keeps her company and calm while she is alone.It is a nice size stainless steel and it functions as it should. It would be nice if you could record more but obviously in this case she is content with just a little bit of talking from me. I promised her that I would record my voice in different sayings and leave them behind if something should happen to me of course lol

Bought this for our 1 year old African Grey Timneh. He loves it. He constantly goes over to it and nudges it to get it to talk. That one is hanging outside his house so he gets to play with it a lot because we work from home. However, it is not available when we are not home and he is inside his house. Instead of moving it back and forth, I just bought a 2nd one for inside his home. Now, he'll get to hear our voices even when we're not home. I cant say all birds will love it, but ours does.

My only complaint is that the speaker isn't very clear and sometimes it just goes off randomly, but it is clear enough for my African Gray. She loves batting and whacking the toy around and triggering the speaker. Most toys she is happy with for a while and then seems to get bored. This one, she goes back to all throughout the day. When I go to change her toys, she can get somewhat aggressive, but this one, she sees me reach for it and she backs away. She watches me studiously while I change the sound and then goes after it with renewed interest once it's rehung and my arm is out of her way. It's fun! I love it!

My cockatiel loves this toy. It’s very durable, not too heavy nor too light, and the perfect size for my bird.My only issue is the lack of volume control and the microphone. In order to control the volume of the toy you need to control the volume of whatever you’re recording. The microphone has a static sound to it as if the gain was too high. Even recording with a pop filter in a sound treated room yields this static sound.Other than those two issues it’s a great toy to keep your bird happy when you’re working. My bird doesn’t seem to mind the static sound that you can’t get rid of, so I can’t really complain since it’s a toy for him and not me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My conure loves this toy. I charged it with the power cord supplied and it’s still working on that same charge some 2 months later. It’s easy to record your own message - I was at a bit of a loss what to say so I recorded the first two lines of Lesley Gore singing Sunshine Lollipops & Rainbows.We’re all trippin’ now

My Severe Macaw loves this. I have it on the outside of his cage where he grabs and plays with it when he is out of his cage. It is motion detected so will start sometimes during the night; mostly not bothersome, but I turn off if continues. HE LOVES fighting my voice. Recording lasts a very long time. I take it with us when we travel. I think it's comforts him and helps boredom and loneliness when we have to leave, which is seldom. Well worth every cent paid for this companion toy. I bought for a friend with a Cockatiel. At this point bird is afraid of it. Time hopefully. She recorded Sheriff John.

I bought this recording toy for my African grey parrot. Both my husband and I recorded our voices talking to the bird on it. As soon as I put it in her cage she went over to it. She touches it and it plays the recorded message. She loves it. It’s a good quality product and very safe for the bird. The color I bought is a light blue and African grey parrot’s are usually scared of new things but she was not scared of this. I think because it is a light silver blue color that’s pleasing to look at. My bird is mesmerized by the recorded message on it. Although it is a bit pricey it is definitely worth it . I recommend this bird toy for anyone who wants a unique bird toy.

I don’t know if I have defected one but you have to hit it pretty hard for it to work. Not as sensitive as I thought it would be. I kept it to long and can’t return it now. Easy to use but it did not do what I thought it would.
