My senior mother actually uses these
I find I use these more often than my previous walking sticks because they collapse to 1/3rd size and are therefore easier to throw in a backpack or the backseat. Reviews of some brands warned of not being as sturdy, but I find this brand to be just as reliable as ones that do not collapse. They are easy to configure for height, snap together quickly, have shock absorbers and come with multiple rubber grips. I initially bought these for a senior, but after seeing the quality and good looks, I bought a pair for myself.

so far so good
I've been wanting really small and light hiking poles for a long while. Hikers know how important it is when hiking up and down hill, especially down. I also don't want heavy ones in my backpack, so these are great! They are so tiny and compact yet so easy to fold into long enough poles. So far I've only used them once and they proved to be sturdy and remain reliable extended when open. They feel durable so far, but I'll have to wait to see in my next hikes - I don't want them to snap under the pressure when heading down hill. Their rubber covers for the pointy tip is great for slippery wet rock. I would highly recommend these poles. I'll update if there's any changes!

DANGEROUS: Keep pulling apart, not safe
If I could give this a zero, I would.I finally used these poles for the first time, a week long hunting trip in the back country. They nearly caused me to lose my balance and fall several times. Almost everyother time I planted my pole in the ground while traversing hillsides, they would pull apart causing me to stop and re-connect. At the most inopportune times. This made my trip uncomfortable and hazardous to say the least. Several times I had to catch myself because my poles fell apart and I couldn’t use them to balance myself. For example, on just one hill side I was traversing, I had to reassemble the poles over 25 times.DO NOT buy these if you are doing anything besides walking on a flat, hard trail. Anything else could result in a dangerous situation and potential injury.I will be seeking a full refund.

Foldable is a game-changer
I've used hiking poles for years and upgraded to lighter, collapsible poles. Traditional poles fold down to a couple feet, which is fine for storage. But if you are mid-hike and need to stow the poles on your backpack while climbing or rock scrambling, traditional poles are a challenge to secure, stick out from the pack, might hit your legs, get caught on branches, etc., which doesn't always feel safe in tricky situations. These fit right in the water-bottle pocket, take two seconds to fold and unfold, and are very light, a game changer. I've had them for a couple weeks now, so far have used them on 30-ish miles of rough, rocky, steep terrain, and they are holding up great. The only downside is they don't come with baskets at the ends, so they will sink deep into mud. I simply unscrewed the baskets of other poles and put them on these, the sizes are standard. Or you could probably pick up a pair of baskets cheaply.Definitely worth the money and from what I can tell exactly like the very very expensive versions I've seen elsewhere.

Light, durable awesomeness
So these poles are a powerhouse. I packed them for a hike in Cinque Terre National Park, Italy. We ended up hiking on rocky terrain, up and down hill, in a torrential down pour. These poles helped me stay on the trail and upright. They are light weight and compact when folded down but sturdy and remain reliable extended when open. They feel durable unlike some poles I have used that I thought might snap under the pressure when heading down hill. They had rubber covers for the pointy tip which I felt was grippy on the slippery wet rock. I would highly recommend these poles. I gave my old poles away and am now using these poles in my regular hiking kit.
