Best acoustic pickup you will ever find for the insanely cheap price!!! BUY IT NOW!!
Dudes and dudettes, this is literally the most amazing aftermarket pickup I have ever seen, and it costs freaking peanuts. Ridiculous deal for $20 (roughly). This is an awesome pickup for any acoustic instrument and the sound quality is just crazy for the price. I put one on my Hofner hollow body bass guitar, and I can now mix the dry/wet signals for acoustic/electric pickup signals. Sound quality on my old mandolin is incredible. If you have any kind of hollow body guitar or bass guitar, mandolin, etc, this is about as awesome of an upgrade as you’ll find in the $20-$30 price range.

It works on my old Yamaha guitar. Volume is either on or off. Tone adjustment is minimal.
I thought I would try this product as I enjoy playing my Yamaha Acoustic guitar at home, I have been using and electric acoustic and enjoy having that amplification ability.Installation was easy after I reasoned how to place it (instructions are lacking). I have heard about some having issues with height adjustment. Mine was buzzing initially, a simple removal and bending of the metal on both sides allowed a lowering to a much more desirable level.I am not pleased with the volume control, it is either on or off. I am able to use the volume on my old Gibson amp, but it would be nice to have the ability to adjust the volume on the guitar for those times when you need a little boost or decrease depending on what you are playing.I have little or no tone control, but my amplifier takes care of that. The cable situation is a bit bothersome. I would prefer to the standard quarter inch guitar plug on board. The short lightweight cord I do not care for. I have adapters and am using those to utilize my wireless or standard guitar cord while playing.I am not going to beat this product up too bad because I figured with a passive pickup you don't have a lot of control. Overall, it was easy to install with a bit of bending, which I think is too be expected. The sound quality after my height adjustment is good. There are no batteries.

not bad!
bought this so my girlfriend could use her acoustic on rocksmith (it works, but you need an 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter) the one i recieved produces a very clean and clear sound on a steel string guitar. These are NOT microphonic, so they will not pick up nylon strings. overall, its not too bad, you're actually getting a little more than what you're paying for here.

Echos
Kinda echoy. Knobs don't really do anything. Get what you get for the price. Works, but if you want a good sound, look for something more legit.

Great microphonic pickup not magentic
Great pickup but it is not a magnetic pickup it is a microphonic pickup which mean it will pickup every little sound even if you tap the guitar with a pick but on the bright side you can use on a classical guitar I am using it on my mom's guitar which is an ovation academy 1978 model deep bowl guitar and it sounds great the only thing I do not like is the high sides of the pickup the older model was a flat pickup that you just slide in the sound hole so if you have a low actions guitar then your string will be dead lucking for me the academy's action can be raised

You get what you pay for.
Spend a little more money on a better product. The volume and tone knobs do almost nothing, and at full volume, I can barely hear my guitar through the amp. I am very disappointed with this product. Again, spend a little extra money and get a pickup that works and has good sound.

Great little pick-up for vintage Guild...
This pick-up works great. Easy to install. Electrified my old Guild in minutes. Sounds great through my Acoustic amp...

Not magnetic, should not be *this* cheap feeling.
Regardless of description, it is NOT an electromagnetic pickup, and is very much a transducer pickup. The holes it has to make it look like it's magnetic are there for that reason alone. The back casing of the pickup is where the transducer mic is set against, I would guess in order to pickup the vibrations through the mounting system. This however is made less effective by the foam padding tape used to keep it from damaging your guitar. It also doesn't help that the build quality and thickness of the metal used is abysmally lacking. If your instrument is one that it seats well into, it can work for general purpose needs. It will want to feed back, being a transducer and not magnetic pickup, but it technically does pickup sound and deliver it to an amp. However, if your application needs magnetic pickups, you will not be happy. I don't know if there is a case where you're happy with the pickup, best case scenario you're going to end up going "meh" and keeping it, but probably never using it again.
