This is a great pencil, have found it fab to use over the past few weeks (wondered why I didn’t get this sooner).I have been a Carpenter & Joiner for 40 yrs and have always used traditional wooden pencils, continuously sharpening, wearing them down and breaking them. The Thorvald pencil is durable, comfortable to use and easy to sharpen (excellent little unscrewable sharpener).The lead that comes with the pencil is good for marking out and produces a strong line to cut to.I will have to look into purchasing harder lead that would give more accuracy on finer joinery work.Having said all that, this is a great product and I would definitely recommend it to all Carpenters, Joiners and woodwork enthusiasts.

It seems pretty decent. I couldn't compare it against any other as it's the first one I've tried, but I'm happy with it.It's easy to grip and easy to change the lead to a different colour. I prefer the red lead as i find it easier to see when hand sawing especially in an LED lit rooms ( it seems to cast a shadow of the edge of the saw on what I'm cutting). But it seems to be well made for the price and I'll probably get another so I don't have to keep changing the lead colour back and forth.

This pencil is a must have for any diy-er or professional they really are as good as the well known brands.The lead is more durable and lasts longer than more expensive versions I have used. The screw in pencil sharpener in the top is not quite as convenient as one hosted on the frame of the pencil but I could live with this flaw. Removable grip for deep hole options is a great feature.Highly recommend this pencil set great value, bright so you won't lose it too!

This is such a useful pencil for marking out drilling holes and for uses in carpentry

Having used traditional joiners pencils and ordinary pencils for years I have found this to be the best. Plenty of lead and rarely needs sharpening . The supplied leads are so far very strong and resist snapping off. For accurate marking the leads are easily sharpened to a fine point with the integrated sharpener.Worth the money
