Good book
I'm a veterinary student, but my interest is more with large animal medicine then small animal medicine. I purchased this book to have as a quick resource for studying for the upcoming boards and also to help me out while on small animal rotations. So far I have had no problem navigating the book or website, and have even used the brochures to help explain things to friends who ask me questions. I put some thought into buying either this book or the clinical advisor book, and mainly went with this one since it had newer material in it and brochures available. To this point I actually really like this book, and would recommend it if you only need the basics and a quick refresher on topics. If you want more information, well thats what the Internal Veterinary Medicine books are for.

Great book -- horrible ebook
5 minute consult is a must have, but the kindle book copy is horrible to use. You have to slowly tap through the entire index in alphabetical order to find the 'disease' you are looking for-- they should have made a shortened index for the ebook or a better search function. I love other ebooks (plumbs, etc), but would not recommend the ebook copy of 5 minute consult

Great book. Needs better way to navigate
Great book. Needs better way to navigate. Only way is to go to the table of contents and scroll through hundreds of conditions a to z or search a condition in which case you usually get hundreds of references and can't tell which is the actual place the condition is described and which are just mentioned as related or ruleouts in other places.

great book
I am in practice 30 years; this is the major book I use every day in small animal clinical practice. I either learn something new, or my technicians do, or I reaffirm that I already know it all, which is a good memory enhancer. Very rarely is there something I need to refresh information on that is not in this book.

Good for making a differential list
Am ashamed to say that I use it all the time. Handy reference unless I need to go deeper into a case. Good for making a differential list.

Great quick reference
I really like this text. It's a great quick reference for me when looking up specific differentials. I'm a WesternU student and find this essential for studying for our Assessment of Critical Thinking Exam where we're asked to choose from a list of differentials and describe the results of diagnostics, pathophysiology, etc.

Good
Love the the behavior added in but miss some of the basics such as causes of monocytosis or thrombocytopenia. Also some of the information on Diabetes Mellitus was confusing.

Students review
During my clinical year I frequently referenced this text during a case or before rounds for a brief review of a disease.

Indispensible as always
We have had the previous edition (hardback) in our practice since it's release and it provides a comprehensive overview of those odd and not so odd conditions and presentations we see. Pared down to factual bullet points, it is well written and quick to then progress the case without missing anything. Has an American bias, of course, but most things are applicable in the UK. I went for the kindle edition as it's cheaper, more convenient (can treat it like any other kindle book - keep a copy on the kindle, PC, laptop and phone), and gets around the restrictions of the true digital edition (which is more expensive again).
