I stumbled across this while searching for something else, which frequently happens to me. I didn't even know these existed! I didn't really have a need to strengthen my doors, as they are advertised for, but my house is old (Built in 1855), and still had the old school hardware for doorknobs and locks (Think keyhole, with a key like they use in fairy tales). These aren't really sufficient for modern times, but upgrading my hardware left holes in the door in odd places. These fit the bill perfectly for covering them up, and made the hardware attach much more solid than it was previously. I was having issues with the doors blowing open in the wind, or even without wind, because there wasn't enough wood to solidly mount modern hardware. This product resolved that problem and then some. The doors look like they were made for modern hardware now! And there is no longer any slop in them, they are rock solid. I liked them so well; I bought more kits after I did the front and back doors!

These worked out fine, very sturdy metal and paintable, only thing is if they came with screws I would have rated them five....

I used this to help secure and align an ailing deadbolt lock cut out on a beautiful antique door. This did the trick and was a much better solution than attempting to repair the broken and/or abused door handle area in some other way. Plus, I can still enjoy the nostalgia of my 1915 era door.

These are great quality and thickmetal, I just didn’t measure how far the lock cylinder was from the jam, I thought they were pretty much standard through the years but this is not the case.

The media could not be loaded. It took a bit of effort with a grinder, chisel and drill to make this product work. But I did get it installed and working as functionally designed.
