Crucial 8GB Laptop Memory Upgrade
Purchased from Amazon.co.ukWhereas my HP Pavilion Dv7 laptop is now getting long in the tooth (in technological terms) it is still reliable and fulfills its raison d'etre (back up to my main PC). Since I have upgraded from 64-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7 a memory upgrade from 4GB to 8GB was worth considering. Although I am always keen to save what I can I view the risk of cheap memory not worth the hassle and a matched pair from Crucial seems the best solution. Ordering was easy, delivery was fast, installation was simple and the end results as desired. I have now had the upgrade working fine for several weeks. One tip arising from the experience, blow out the inside of your laptop (especially the fan area) with compressed air if possible while the cover is off. My laptop now runs quieter and cooler as well as faster. For those who might be interested, I found another drive bay when I took the cover off so I put a 1TB drive in and am using the original 320GB drive as a data disk (I haven't found a way of making it bootable!).

Bought for my HP 6910p for Win 7 (64 Bit) as research says it would work.... & it does....
I have 2 x HP 6910p Laptops... one with standard 4gb and a 80gb 5400rpm drive......running Win 7 (32 Bit) and i have a spare.... which i've bought these pairs of Crucial 4Gb Ram, I've also got a 256Gb SSD Samsung Pro which runs Win 7 (64 bit).... I've built the 2nd HP and it recognised the 8Gb straight away.. no issues there.... even though HP say it only recognises 4Gb.... NOT the case.... however... this thing boots up VERY fast... with the SSD... timed at 30 to boot from pressing the button to being able to click on the 1st buttons.... however... doing a multitude of things.... it starts to lag.... and its not that fluid.. its till better that then 4Gb but.... the spend on the RAM was NOT worth it.... but the SSD... what a BUY!!!So a 3 stars for the RAM!!

Gives my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop a new life!
Before you buy any memory kit:First, go to the Crucial web site to know if you can install the 8Gb memory kit in your laptop computer using the specific hardware model number. Usually, the model number is on a stiker on the back. Then go to your laptop computer website (HP, DELL...) and be sure to update your BIOS to the latest firmware available for your specific laptop model BEFORE installing the 8Gb memory kit. Old BIOS firmware may not support 8Gb memory kit.I tested the 8Gb memory kit using MemTest over 12 hours and there is no memory errors. This 8Gb memory kit works in my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop with the latest BIOS firmware version A14 and is fully detected in Windows 7 Pro 64 bits, even if Dell says ont their website that the Inspiron 1545 laptop supports only up to 4Gb of RAM.So I installed this 8Gb memory kit and I changed the original 5400 rpm hard drive with a Kingston SSDNow V300 solid-state drive and my laptop computer has a new life! And it's very fast!

Awesome product
My hp laptop came with 2x2gb Hynix PC2-5300 SODIMM chips installed. Over the years I have owned it I really began to notice the choke off of data retrieval from 4gb of RAM. My RAM meter would be pegged while executing most functions. I ordered and received the Crucial 8gb kit in a timely fashion via USPS and free shipping. Installation was a snap and and my Windows 7 Home Premium instantly recognized the upgrade. After initializing the hardware and installing the drivers (I also added a new hard drive in the spare bay) my RAM meter was very happy! Upon start up the Ram meter would sit idle at 38% of RAM. Now it sits idle at 18%! I have yet to test my gaming performance, but I expect it to be an improvement. My Windows experience rating now is only held back by the dated NVIDIA graphics chip. I would definitely recommend Crucial. 100% made in the U.S.A.

Spot on
I've been running this for a couple of months now without a problem.Product arrived without a hitch.I've installed both DIMMs and I am now the proud own of an old machine with way too much RAM for the CPU to keep up with.As advertised and as expected.

Works well but very pricey.
Upgraded the memory in a Sony Vaio FW series laptop to 8 GB. Easy to install and no problems being recognized by the BIOS. Good increase in system response and speed with Windows 7 and 8 dual boot system. The only bad thing about this is that since it is last gen DDR2 RAM, it is almost 3 or 4 times the price of DDR3 chips.

SODIMM 200 pin
These memory boards were exactly what I needed and they snapped in place in a heartbeat. I had the laptop buttoned up in under five minutes, the reboot recognized the increase in memory and worked without a hassle. Do it yourself, rewarding and significant cost saver. Remember two very important points, first remove all power from the laptop - including the battery, and keep yourself grounded. Static charges will destroy any chip.
