My mom has a hospital bed and doesn't walk. I get her up in a wheelchair 6 hours a day. I choose this mattress topper to help her be comfortable and avoid bed sores. I set it up and tried it myself first. I found it lumpy and uncomfortable. So I set it to alternating pressure and a very low pressure. I wasn't too concerned about the noise because Mom is hard of hearing. Mom is very comfortable on this mattress topper and I don't worry about her not wanting to change positions now. Very glad I got it. Thank you.

I purchased the Alternating Air Mattress Topper for my bedridden family member, hoping to improve their comfort and help with pressure relief. Initially, the topper worked quite well, offering consistent support and relief for around 11 months. However, a very small hole appeared at the outer edge, causing it to deflate. Since the first topper performed adequately for nearly a year, I decided to purchase a second one in October.Unfortunately, the second topper has not held up as well. After only five months of use, two very tiny holes have appeared at the outer edges, leading to air loss and a deflated mattress. My relative weighs around 268 lbs, which is under the 300 lb weight limit for the topper, so I was expecting better durability.At this point, I’m extremely dissatisfied. The mattress topper should have lasted longer, especially considering it was purchased with the expectation of supporting my family member comfortably for an extended period. The recurring issue with small holes and deflation is frustrating, and I no longer feel confident in the product’s durability. Given the limited lifespan of both toppers, I can't recommend this product based on my experience.

REMEMBER, place the portion that the air hose connects to at the foot of the bed with the pump down there or you will hear the air pumping all night long through the mattress itself. Irritating and loud when you lay your head on the pillow. The mat also tends to slide on an elevated bed head. They need a way to secure it to the mattress to stop it from sliding.

This was only used for a week so I cannot comment on how it would hold up in the long run. It was quiet enough at night not to interrupt sleep even though I am a light sleeper. It did the job to help with pressure sores for a patient who could not reposition or roll over. I found it easy to set up and it fit well under home hospital bed sheets. Without commenting on long term reliability, I was very pleased with it for the week that it was in use and would recommend it for the money.
