The media could not be loaded. I was initially skeptical about this product due to some mixed reviews, but I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did! The key is to take your time during installation and make sure everything is aligned correctly before tightening the bolts. I think many of the negative reviews come from improper installation, so attention to detail is crucial.To help others, I’ve included two videos and a picture to show how the installation process should go. Once properly installed, the piston works perfectly. The tailgate closes smoothly with plenty of clearance, and it does a great job slowing the drop of the tailgate. This was especially important for my wife and kids, as it makes the tailgate easier and safer for them to use.The installation process was quick and straightforward—it took me about five minutes once I had my tools ready. A tip: avoid using a power drill, as it could strip the bolts. A simple socket wrench is all you need to get the job done right.So far, the product is performing exactly as advertised. Perfect fit easy install on a 17 Tundra. Functions as it should

Works as advertised, a little snug. Easy to install and once in place no worries. Works as advertised, slow opening.

The product will not fit with the existing bolt washer still on my Tundra, which does not come off. I stripped the bolt, trying to tighten it. I now also need a replacement "T40" bolt. Additionally, the shaft of the product cracked during removal. Will not order this again

If you used two of these on your truck, it causes your tailgate to pop out of socket. I ended up having to send one back due to this. One is plenty to get it to go down slowly. Fit was easy and I love that it slows down the tailgate instead of slamming down.

Extremely easy install. Great mod for the price

Easy to attach to pre existing hole of 2019 Tundra, thought I was short a part which wasn’t actually needed, because I was looking at U tube and U tube had extra steps and used parts that weren’t needed and made it look more difficult to attach.

Excellent product! My tailgate isn't slamming down any more. This thing smoothens the tailgate lowering process. It's light and the fit is just perfect.
