I use this for deep tissue massage, muscle relaxation and to pop my back lol! The material is super durable I could stand on it if I wanted. Very lightweight to pick up or travel with. It was great while it lasted. It has a decent density when you don’t need the intensity of a harder foam roller. I’ve had this for 1 year and almost 3 months and I used it quite regularly for about 8 months and then sporadically for the other 7 months. Until the other day, it just broke in half suddenly when I was using it. I know this type of foam roller isn’t built to last like the higher quality ones but I didn’t expect this to happen. I think I’ll go back to spending more on the higher quality types so that they last longer because replacing it after just over a year of use isn’t practical for me. But overall, giving it 4 stars because it really did feel good as a deep tissue massage without being too intense.

Here’s the deal: this is a great price roller. That’s easy to store, travel with, and keep handy. If you are not familiar with the virtues of the roller, look up the exercises. It works for virtually any muscle group to avoid cramping, injury, and muscle elasticity. I am now hiking more and I’m in my early 60s so rolling does wonders. This one is dense, and the firmness is great for deep tissue concentration and its a great price.

I ordered this to help stretch my back at night. It is very effective for doing just that. I always feel better the next morning. Even though it is stiff, it does not hurt my back when I’m using it to stretch out!

I prefer the versatility of the long 36 inch version, although it mostly use only about half of the length. I have begun rolling this on the wall behind me, near an opposite wall or doorway I can push with, which fully regulates the pressure. One thing I learned is that the tension that feels as if it is from the lower neck, really comes from that patch of muscle below the shoulder blades mid-back. I also notice that those muscles somehow affect my digestion and regularity.As with anything, care needs to be taken, everything gentle, but this is very relaxing for me after exercise. I do prefer using it on the wall so I can control the pressure better.

I returned this only because it was extremely stiff and also to large in diameter for me. Obviously I hadn't read the description well enough.
