Nice affordable ISO certified dive watch.
This is my second watch. The first one had a defective movement and would stop randomly. I'm kinda surprised since the V158 movement is actually a very nice movement for what it is.The second watch arrived and its been running perfectly. This is my third Seiko with the V158 movement. Basically you just set em and forget em unless you have daylight savings or have to adjust the calender date for a short month. These watches aren't too big but they also aren't small. SNE107 has really nice Lume and features nice big hands and hour markings, making it easy to tell time at a glance. The white hands are a nice contrast with the black dial. The strap is an odd mixture of stiff rubber that's smooth and oddly flexible. It fits my wrist nicely and yet will spring back to a straight line when I take the watch off my wrist. The back case has a nice ocean crest or design in the middle which matches the design on the band, a nice touch. The back is also highly polished like the case. The bezzle is easy to turn and has a smooth click to it. The crown is a screw down type. It pops out once you clear the threads. But the one thing I don't like is how close the clicks are between the day/date adjustment and time adjustment. You have to try a few times to get the first click to adjust the day/date.Overall for the money your getting a really nice ISO certified watch with a solar powered quartz movement. There's really nothing not to like here.

Excellent Watch
As usual, this item arrived on schedule and well-priced. The watch was packaged in a white outer Seiko box containing documentation and the actual watch box (with pillow, tags, etc.) inside. Unlike the prior reviewer's experience, my packaging and tags were all-new (including the blue plastic on reverse of the watch). The only oddity was that the case back details (Seiko wave logo and text) were not centered vertically; the logo and text were rotated a bit to the right (to about the 1 o'clock position). This probably is not unusual for a 200m dive watch, where the case back must be screwed down until completely sealed. The watch has a nice feel - not too heavy, but hefty enough to offset its rubber/urethane band. My regular watch is an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Coaxial, which is lighter (though a steel automatic) but not a dive watch. The presentation is clean and proportionate, larger than I'm used to on a medium-sized wrist but offset by my large hands.Settings are easy and (true to documentation) the solar function kicks in immediately, showing the two-second second-hand flutter indicating low battery. I expect this to go away quickly as the battery charges. Time and date were a breeze to set, with multiple languages available (e.g., "Mon" or "Lun").All in all, a great value for less than $200 - now let's see if it is as tough as I'm hoping!

Great solar-powered 200m dive watch. Perfect work "beater". Easy to read. Bright Lume. But no warranty card from Dexclusive.
I got this for work because I wanted a tough solar watch with good looks. It lacks the charm of a Seiko 007 automatic with its offset crown and black bezel. But instead has a very shiny new look, quartz accuracy and will not require battery changes! What I like most is the simply designed, very easy to read dial. The solar panel is almost invisible because of the shimmering dial. Specs say it should last for 10 months without light. (The standard Men's solar watch power reserve used to be only 6 months.)The watch feels pretty good to wear and not too heavy. The strap isn't the most comfortable plastic watch band I've worn, but I'm giving it a chance because I love the look. After a few days I tried swapping the top with the bottom. It fits my wrist better this way. After a couple of days I smoothed some of the sharp corners that irritated. How? Concrete works very well. Inner lug-width is 20mm, not 22mm as with some other divers.Do a Google image search for "SNE107P2" and find better pics if you are considering this watch because the current blurry image doesn't do it justice. The "sunburst / starfish" bezel is special, and for me, sets it apart from the traditional "Seiko 007" design. This watch is mostly polished. The bezel and case are shiny and produce glare occasionally -- especially when you drive on a sunny day. The only brushed parts are the tops of the lugs and the numbered part of the bezel. Since the day/date is white on black, it is sometimes difficult to read. It has a screw-down crown. It came with the crown pulled out to prevent battery run-down. When I set the time and pushed the crown in (and screwed it down) it started right up. I put it in the window sill from time to time for charging. I have two 18-year old Pulsar solar Men's watches that still work today because I feed them at least four times a year. This watch weighs about 95 grams. I expected it to be a little lighter than my autos. My Orient Mako (auto) weighs the same. In comparison, my Seiko Monster 2 (auto) with metal bracelet weighs 170g.The lume is typical bright and long-lasting Seiko -- just as good as my Monster2 and readable long into the night. Lume is better than 4 other Seikos I own. This face has large hour markers with smaller lume applied to the markers. The lume dots aren't all precisely centered on mine but it still looks OK. In hindsight, I'd recommend a model with outlines on the hour markers. My watch has some scratches on the face below the SEIKO logo. (Bad day at the factory?) You don't see this when checking the time, only upon close inspection. The bezel marks don't exactly line up either. I'm beginning to think this was used and returned because it also has a little scuff on the side of the case. Way too late to return it because I already trimmed the band. Anyway, a friend of mine has an orange SNE109 and his bezel lines up perfectly. At this price I can accept these shortcomings for a relatively cheap, tool watch. (I think you will have better luck.)And the last thing: I did not get a Seiko warranty card. Probably because they are not a Seiko "authorized dealer". Instead, I got 3rd party warranty card that I have no interest in registering. I wonder what Dexclusive company is doing with the warranty cards.Regardless, I expect this watch to last 20 years so I am not worried. So far it is accurate, I like it very much and I wear it often. So far it has provided more than a year of great service. Approximately 7 seconds fast per month.Comment: The bezel has always been a little loud and loose.. But after almost a year the bezel (ring?) broke and it spins both ways freely. Seiko is charging me about $30 to repair and ship back to me. I think Seiko should cover such a repair since I didn't abuse the watch. But I don't want to fight it out over $30. Serviced watch arrived after 5 weeks. It took a while, but the bezel is fixed and works well and feels good. This watch survived a few snorkel dives and many dips in the pool with no problem.*** If you are still reading, then here is my two cents on finding the perfect work watch:Five years ago, I started my search for the perfect everyday work watch. I was tired of wearing an ordinary digital watch and I wanted an easy to read, stylish analog. I started with the Seiko SNE107 solar, ended with the SKX007 mechanical, and bought the others in between -- plus a few more not mentioned here. If I knew then what I know now, my collection would likely be smaller.I want to tell you things that you can't get from a photo -- insights that you get after spending weeks with a watch on your wrist. I hope that by sharing my opinion and comparison of these fine watches, I can help you with your search for the perfect diver / work watch / "beater".I have come to appreciate the style and value of Seiko so I continued to buy them. I can't comment on other brands because there aren't any other brands in my collection. These are my favorite five:SKX007 Classic Black 7S26 movement with 40 hour power reserve. "The Classic" at top top of my list.Black face with white hour markers. Markers have a white outline. Thin patch of lume inside the white outline. Second hand is white, but the border of the hands is chrome. Easy to read the time in light and dark conditions. Easy to read date window with white background. Did I say easy to read both time AND date? I like the style of this one so much that I wear it more than my quartz watches.Favorite things about this watch: Pure classic design and easy to read.SKX171 Steel & Black 7S26 movement with 40 hour power reserve.Black face with chrome hour markers. Markers have a chrome outline. They shine in direct light. They tend to look dull gray in photos. Thin patch of lume inside the chrome outline. Second hand is chrome, as are the borders of the hands. Black date window isn't easiest to read, but contributes to classic design of black & steel. Slightly aggressive steel bezel lends itself to a stainless bracelet.Favorite thing about this watch: Rugged classic design plus chrome.SKX011 Classic Orange 7S26 movement with 40 hour power reserve.Rich Orange face with white hour markers. Markers have a black outline. Thin patch of lume inside the black outline. Second hand is black and the hands are gold. Easy to read the time in bright conditions, less so in dark conditions. Easy to read date window with white background. You pay a premium for the orange and gold and I'm not sure why. But it certainly is nice to look at. I have read that the gold bezel begins to fade after many years of wear.Favorite thing about this watch: Classic design plus gold.SRP307 Monster II 4R36 movement with 42 hour power reserve. If you have a 7" or larger wrist, this one is worth every penny and belongs at the top of YOUR list. It is a bit large and flashy for me to wear regularly. Manually windable, hackable, and has a nice domed crystal. The hour markers have a chrome border and the hands are white. The hour markers are also available with a red border. Very easy to read and the lume is more white, unlike the greenish tint of the 1st generation. Honestly, the Monster's stainless bracelet has no equal. Plus it has a divers extension. The date window is black to maintain the black & stainless style. Also consider the SRP581 black/blue. Believe it or not, in 2017 there is now a Monster III.Favorite things about this watch: Bold, unique design. Manually windable.SNE107P2 Solar Diver -- Solar quartz movement with healthy 10 month power reserve. Inexpensive beater watch.Rechargeable battery will last up to 20 years if charged regularly. Just place in a window sill a few times per year if necessary. Black (also radiant in direct light), face with plain white hour markers. There are thick mounds of lume applied to the markers which may or may not be centered. This could be a deal breaker for some. This lume is certainly bright in the dark, and the hour markers are white while indoors, but in the daylight, the lume takes on a dull yellow tint that some may not like. This effect is not noticeable in the other divers. By my observations, this is because the lume is thinner and light can pass through, or because black or chrome borders provide contrast that hides the effect. Second hand is white, as are the borders of the hands. All this white makes it easy to read, but date window has black background -- not as easy to read as a white background. "Starfish" stainless bezel is wider, more flashy, and produces more glare than the classic design of the '007 or '171. Seiko 20mm rubber strap isn't as soft as the 22mm strap that comes with the mechanicals. This model has drilled lugs for easy strap changes. This watches brother, the SNE109, comes with an orange face -- a light shade of orange that reminds me of an orange push-up.Favorite thing about this watch: Easy to read.Any watch that I said has a black face actually has a dark gray face. At first glance they may appear black. But when I saw a friend's Rolex and compared it to my Seiko, I realized what black really looks like. All of these dive watches have excellent lume visible for hours. The lume in the Monster II and the SNE107 seems to be a tiny bit better. But they are all visible long into the night. The Monster II and the SNE107 are also especially easy to read at a glance because of the white markers AND white hands. All of these are mechanical except for the SNE107 which is solar powered. Seiko solar is accurate and reliable, but the mechanicals have character despite their short power reserve and relative inaccuracy. The mechanicals need to be set at least monthly and, of course, when they've stopped after 40 hours off the wrist. The solar only needs to be set a couple of times per year, and the date corrected on short months. The photos on Amazon are rarely as good as they could be. Some are blurry stock photos that could never help to sell a product. Always look at several photos from the Internet before making your choice. Then read the watch enthusiast sites..If you are worried that you may be buying a second-rate or gray-market Seiko, just make sure you buy one that is Prime with the 30-day free return option.Often, Seikos bought or sourced from Japan will have a weird "only valid in Japan" warranty slip.-----Anti-squeak Tip: Some of my rubber strap watches developed an annoying squeak. One was caused by a squeaky spring bar, and the other by the bar squeaking against the strap hole. Sil-Glyde silicone lube is the perfect solution to this. It is harmless to rubber and metal. Take out your spring bars and work some into the ends. Leave some on the bar so it will slide in easy and stay lubed in the strap hole. Problem solved in 10 minutes.-----Strap tip: Try it upside down. My rubber and leather straps usually felt uncomfortable and inched their way around my wrist. Annoying. So I tried it upside down and these problems disappeared. My watches stay put better and the keeper isn't bunched up at the bottom of my wrist. Easy to try -- just wear it upside down for a little while and you'll know if you need to make the change.Good luck,-Chris

Quality issue - major roblem with Bezel
The product purchased less than 3 weeks ago and the black "paint" on the numbers and markers on the bezel is peeling off. No black paint left on 50% of bezel.I now face the hassle of return or repair under warranty.

Great 200m water resistant solar watch!
After 15 years of owning an automatic Seiko Diver's( first generation 7002)and also Citizen Eco Drive models, this seemed the perfect fusion of the both Worlds. I'll accordingly be comparing both models for anyone in the same frame of mind.Basically the seiko automatic won't last a day in the draw without stopping but I really liked its chunky build. Fisrt off the one thing that surprised me was how far up the glass is on this watch compared to my old model. My previous seiko had the glass sunk down and protected to some degree by the rotating bezel. On the new SNE107 the glass pertrudes a tiny bit above the minute incremations of the bezel. Talking of the bezel, some images show the minute part in black which infact is just a reflection, its all shiney stainless steel and clicks round very reasuringly. Its a bit lighter to wear too, and the Z20 PVC strap seems softer than previously ( and which I personally prefer over the more expensive metal link option). The black face is a little shiny as though it has been pollished radially giving a vinyl record appearance. It takes a bit of getting used to compared to a matt finish but isn't too detracting. The hands seem to be very similar to my old model with the second hand having a nice luminous circle on its back end. The luminous hour circles are a bit blobby, doming up a bit and are shiny. The Day Date is very clear and changes very smoothly and the hour adjuster screws in to prevent water ingressing. If it lasts as long as my trusty Citizen Eco Drive watches it should give plenty of years of service without the need to open up an change batteries or timer tuning and risk reducing its water resistance.Summing up then, feels a bit thinner, finer, definately cheaper, than my old automatic Scuba, but at 98 quid, it's a heck of a lot of watch for the money. I can easily reccomend it to anyone in the market for a scuba style design that is simple, eligant and durable.
