Marcia's voice emerges triumphant despite disgusting miscarraige of justice.
Marcia Clark is a fascinating figure. Although her legal career was essentially ended by her failure to convert what was essentially a "slam dunk" case into a conviction, she emerges as a likeable, highly intelligent, skilful and a superb writer. Coming off the back of a divorce, and having to withstand intense scrutiny, from her haircut to her childcare issues, it is difficult to argue with her contention that her case was unwinnable given the jury and the racial nature of the trial which was increasingly disconnected from the actual evidence which would have convicted Simpson in any court of law worth the name. Clark made one major mistake, entering Fuhrman as a prosecution witness. He (along with the insane glove trying incident) derailed what was essentially a clear case of double homicide commited by the odious Simpson. The recent mini-series has been excellently portrayed, and has been favourable to Marcia. She deserves respect and sympathy for what she went through. A good person and excellent lawyer sacrificed, like justice itself, at the altar of the circus that was the "trial of the century".

BUY IT!
Fabulous autobiography by Marcia Clark. She has led a very interesting life, even before the trial. I believe Marcia tells it as it is and is not afraid to admit she made poor decisions during the trial of O J Simpson. She was cruelly mocked during the whole fiasco for her clothes, hair etc. which had nothing to do with how OJ murdered two human beings in such a vicious manner. Highly entertaining and informative account of a strong determined woman. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

V good read
Very enjoyable read. Goes into a lot of detail which I did enjoy but got a little bored with once or twice, for e.g. The science behind DNA. Others might not mind this at all. All in all though a great behind the scenes look at the OJ trial and the fiasco that it was. I never understood why he got the not guilty verdict but when you hear this account of the various different factors that were going on in this trial I now understand why this injustice occurred. I have a great respect for Marcia Clark. She admits where the prosecution went wrong but she also did a lot of thorough work but regardless of what this poor woman did she was never going to put Oj behind bars.

Amazing Marcia Clark
Amazing biography by Marcia Clark. Interesting till the end, however it makes you incredibly frustrated to read about the undebatable evidence she presented which was shut down completely. Shocking to see how this case was dealt with by an incompetent judge and jury. Marcia Clark is a brilliant, strong and devoted woman and prosecutor who wrote an amazing biography of the hardest case she had to endure.

Without a doubt a good read
Even 25 years after the event it is shocking to think how Simpson got away with a double murder. This book goes a long way in making sense of it,and also as a British reader it gives a good account of how the American justice system works, which is very different to here. All in all an excellent read.

What a woman!
Incredibly well written account of what must have been absolute hell for all who were trying to bring this man to justice. It brings a whole new perspective to the case and Marcia Clark did everything she could and has nothing to feel guilty about. When I read that Mark Fuhrman stated that he intended to plead the fifth and then the defence asked him if he planted the glove at Rockingham, knowing that he intended to plead, I actually put my head in my hands. Marcia is one strong woman and I would recommend this account of 'the trial of the century' to every person interested in the case or who has an opinion on it. You'll believe every word and feel the devastation, knowing the outcome but somehow hoping that it will be different.

Compelling
After having watched the recent TV series of this case, I felt I wanted to read Marcia Clark's book. I must admit I was truly fascinated by her strength in the series and having only been in my teens during the original trial I had not fully grasped the scale of the case until the series. I wanted to hear Marcia's side. All I can say is that the book was ten times more anger-inducing in terms of the injustice of this trial. Marcia Clark presents an intriguing and compelling account of her intense and gruelling months on the case. A must read.

Privileged to have this insight
In what other book would you be able to gain first-hand insight into an event which gripped as many people as it did. Marcia Clark provides, firstly, an objective view to the trial but also scatters scathing points about the defence team and Judge Ito. While she rightfully does not condone the previous behaviour of Mark Fuhrman, she does exonerate him of any evidence tampering through a rational discussion of the facts. An interesting take on a case which surely received a perverse verdict.
