Need to Check That This Is The Correct Part
This part sold and shipped by Amazon is an authentic, nicely-packaged, Original Equipment part made by Samsung that will properly replace the part of the same model number if it is in your refrigerator. The problem is that several popular models of Samsung refrigerator have been extremely-popular, and thus the manufacturer has maintained the model while making small-ish improvements to it without changing what it calls the model number. One example is that they have switched between a 7-cube icemaker and a 9-cube icemaker in the RFG297. One is this part, which is the 7-cube; the 9-cube is DA97-07365G, which replaces the same part with an A at the end instead of a G. If you just type the "Model Number" from the refrigerator label into the "See if it fits" box, it may not give you a correct answer. SO BEWARE. The easiest and most-definitive way to know what part you need is to pull the ice tray out of the icemaker, and use your smartphone to take a picture of the front underside of the actual icemaker that is in there. There will be a label right there with the part number on it. That's the part that is actually in the refrigerator, so that's the part that you want (except you want the "G", upgraded, version of the 07365 if that's what's in there; if it is this part, you want the "A" version, as that is all there is right now). By just taking a photo of the label, in 2 seconds you will have an absolutely-definitive answer as to what part you need. However, if you can't do so for some reason, and you want to use the "Does it fit?" thingy, don't input the "Model Number" from the label inside the door of the refrigerator. Instead, input the longer "BOM Name" from the same label. That is a more-precise descriptor of the specific configuration of refrigerator that you actually have, and the "Does it fit?" thingy should return the correct answer.I tell you this from experience. My wonderful repairman came out and fixed my icemaker, but cautioned me that it was likely to jam again in the near future, and if it did it should be replaced. He actually showed me how to do it, which is super-easy. (Remove one screw, slide the left-side wire-harness cover off, unplug the wire harness, push down on the tab on the icemaker and slide it directly-forward, then it should come down from the roof of the containment vessel. Reverse order to install the new one. Simple. Less than 5 minutes with a hand-screwdriver; more like 2 minutes). There are lots of youtube videos of varying accuracy of how to do it. Then, good guy that he is, he told me it would be cheaper just to order it from Amazon and gave me the part number. From his computer. Which was wrong. I don't know why he didn't just copy the part number off the label, since he had removed the icemaker and could look directly at it, but he didn't. So I had the wrong icemaker on the way before I read all these reviews, used my brain, and took a picture of the label. Uh-oh. I ordered the correct one and did a return of the wrong one. Amazon of course happily took the wrong one back; I didn't even take it out of the box before returning it.In short, order your icemaker from Amazon with complete confidence in the price and quality, but use your camera to get the correct part number right from the label on the actual part. I would order the "Sold and shipped by Amazon" version that claims to be an authentic Samsung part; there are a lot of knockoffs out there being sold by Marketplace vendors, and many actually say so if you read the listing very carefully.

Good part and supplier
It fixed my issue of no ice. This seems to be a weak part for the Samsung refrigerators. Before you purchase one try the forced defrost feature. You can find directions on youtube. It may or may not fix the problem but it is worth a try. I did it even for the new ice maker as it was slow to make ice. It takes about 30 minutes to complete and the refrigerator beeps as this is going on. It didn't defrost the food in the freezer and your food is fine in the refrigerator. I read where the water feed line can freeze.

Samsung Ice makers are defective and should be recalled. Resolve: this is the alternative
There are many reviews for Samsung refrigerator ice makers that malfunction. They should be factory recalled.Nevertheless, purchasing this (expensive out of pocket cost) ice maker part fixed the problem and we have ice and water through the door once again. All this after paying for another part that did not fix the problem. I will not purchase a Samsung frig. the next time around.

Very Easy for ANY do it yourself!
Our Samsung fridge is about 14 years old this year. We bought it because it was so quiet (the old Frigidaire is still ticking long nicely in the garage, although the ice-maker/water dispensor on it is kaput...but a noisy beast...drove you out of the kitchen when it was running). Essentially just remove one screw to remove the cover for the wiring panel, unplug the ice-maker and slide it back 1/2" and it drops down and you can just take it out. Reverse to put in the new one. This is the second one to break. They seem to last 5-6 years before they pack it in....

Cheaper than buying a GE labeled part.
If you have to replace an icemaker in a GE fridge take it apart and look at the bottom. In most cases it has another manufacturers name and model number on it and you get it much cheaper ordering that way on Amazon rather than going thru GE parts. In some cases if you want to disassemble the unit you can get just replace the guts and get it done even cheaper. You just use the original outer hardware that's just attached with a few screws.

We have ICE!
GE Profile (yes they use the same ice maker) Ice maker failed. It just stopped working. Would produce 1 set of cubes every 24 hrs. Watched video as to how to replace it- 1 screw, one unplug, slide device out. Took like 10 seconds. Installed this unit and had a full ice bin within 12 hrs.

Works great, hope it lasts longer than the last one.
We love our GE Profile frig but we are on our third ice maker in ten years. This replacement was easy to install and performs as it should.

Easy replacement of bad ice maker in Samsung RFG295AARS
This is the correct ice maker for the Samsung RFG295AARS, was really easy to install, and fixed my issue (ice frozen solid in ice maker and not dropping into ice bin).
