Guest of the Lodge
As a recent guest staying at the Seymour Lodge, my wife and I were introduced to the wonders of the lodge with all of it antiques and of course the first working toilet in Morgan! This Story was a fun read partly while I was sitting on the overstuffed sofa in the great room, then the remaining story after returning home.

Fantastic Mystery
Ms. Smith shows a love of nature in this book, which has a little of everything. There is a mystery, a romance, a threat to the environment and a personal challenge to the protagonist who is at a turning point in her life. Anyone who loves Vermont and especially the Northeast Kingdom, would enjoy this book. Jane Badger

The Mystery at Seymour Lake Lodge
The book was great in that I know the area extremely well, so that the knowledge of that was fun, but the story was a little boring.

Exemplary description contributes to this compelling cliffhanger
Winter Smith’s Mystery at Seymour Lake Lodge fascinates the reader as the author weaves together a very detailed description of the plants, animals and Abenaki legacy in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Her use of similes and metaphors sets a new standard for mystery writers, drawing the reader into the setting and adding to the suspense. Character development is likewise excellent. Susan Winter Smith does not insult her audience with a simplified plot, instead allowing the reader to consider various scenarios and cognitively cooperate with her to solve the mystery. Well done!
