Q: Does the seed drop ahead of, or behind the tines? In other words, does this work like a seed drill of sorts?

The seed drops behind but not a problem. My lawn was absolutely shot and I seeded using this and spread seed both directions and kept rolling over the seeded area both aerating and driving the seed in.My lawn looks like a golf course.UsedK-31 seed from tractor supply for $50 per 50lb bag grows great.Good investment.

Q: Can you remove the spikes for when you only want to spread?

Q: I can’t find any mention of Brinly on any bags of fertilizer, lime or seed, For spreading, what major spreader manufacturer chart would be similar?

Brinly has a page in their owners manual on how to determine the flow setting control for various grass seeds and fertilizers. They also describe alternative flow control settings not based upon the chart provided. I used both charts on weed and feed, rye grass, and regular 10-10-10 fertilizer and was very pleased with the results. It is an awesome product for the price. My only complaint is the manual lift which needs more length for easier lift leverage.

Q: Will this attach to John Deere 330X series?
