3M 261X Aluminum Oxide lapping film, 9" X 13" sheet, grit 0.3um

I use the 1um and .3um in the final steps of honing my straight razors following the King 1000/6000 stone. The King does a great job and you could probably go straight to CroOx after the 6000, but I prefer the edge polish and retention off of this film to any other media, put it under 60x loupe and see the difference.I use a marble tile sample as the base (6x12"), and cut this film into 3"strips to end up with basically a 3x8 hone. Keep the tile and back of the film clean and free of hair or other particles, give the tile a light mist of water, lay the film along the edge, squeegee out any air bubbles, mist the film with water and do your thing. For final finishing, try a slightly damp paper towel under the .3um after lightly glassing the edge on the edge of the tile. You can follow that with 10-20 laps on a GOOD strop but it won't make much difference, as the .3 on the damp paper towel puts just about the best edge you'll ever find on a razor with a properly set bevel.

This film is a well made quality product. I use is in my process for sharpening my straight razors along with other grits. It does a fantastic job honing and polishing the edge.

Works well Used in conjunction with the 1um for final honing/polishing some straight razors. Really seems to enhance the smoothness, comfort, feel of the straights I have used this with. Cheap option relative to higher end Shaptons / naturals

Have used this film before to finish out knife blades. Excellent product.
