AWESOME LADDER
This ladder is PERFECT for anyone looking for sturdy! It has a weight capacity of 300 LBS which is much better than any I found in its class. Think about that. A person of substance with a tool belt or a can of paint, or, for that matter, LUNCH ~ LOL can use this ladder with confidence!Yes, it is kind of heavy ~ but isn't that what you want in a ladder with nice wide RUBBER steps that goes up to the sky? Ok not THAT high, but once you are up there it might as well be :) After all it's high enough for me to clean the tops of my kitchen cabinets, or more importantly, change the batteries in the smoke alarms, and the lightbulbs on the front porch! Those places are all my "sky."In truth, as one person said, it may not be a ladder for a frail person to lift and carry, but, on the other-hand if a frail person really HAD to get on a ladder, it would be THE safest one for them to use. I have a lift restriction and I find that it is not the weight that prevents me from moving this ladder, but how I choose to carry it. Balancing it properly makes all the difference. I'll take the added weight knowing I have a quality product under me when elevated off the ground!!!The padded handle is AWESOME and just the right angle and height for gaining balance as you move up and down the ladder, but ALSO it works as a back rest if you really DO want to eat your lunch from a mini sky-scraper with no walls :)Can't say enough good about it. Whoever designed it made the effort to really think things out, not just pretend to meet a couple of needs and then market an inferior product... It has non-slip front feet and rear corners. The treads are nice and wide which enhances stability.Ok you get the idea... it's a great ladder/step stool ... :)

Excellent purchase.
I already own one of those "Little Giant" ladders. The TV ad for "Little Giant Ladders" sucked me in. Great ad. Also a very good ladder. But it weighs a ton. The little lady who wheels that ladder around her house in the Advertisement must have had special training for about a year on how to do this.I just needed something to help me reach the lightbulbs above my bathroom sink. My reach was about 6 inches too short and the six lightbulbs above the bathroom sink were blowing out one by one. Soon I would be in the dark. But I also needed something sturdy. When this Easy Comforts Step Ladder Stool combination arrived the package was a little banged up. And it looked like it had been packaged by some maniac who had just discovered Scotch Tape. Everything was taped with Scotch tape. Even the Scotch tape was taped with Scotch tape. But the step ladder inside was in perfect condition. And I could not be more pleased. The steps are wide and the ladder is sturdy just as advertised. Well worth the few extra bucks I spent. My house is less than 3 years old. The lightbulbs above my bathroom sink are guaranteed for 11 years but four of them have already given up the ghost. And I am a non-smoker, living alone, and I have 5 smoke detectors...way too many smoke detectors for my needs. So last night after unpacking the step ladder I was in bed reading on the web how to disconnect a hard-wired smoke detector. Next thing I knew, I began to hear "chirping." And you know what that means.I had read that this step-ladder was good for changing smoke-detector batteries; but I didn't think it would be good enough because my ceilings are pretty high. Well, I checked my 5 smoke detectors, and none of them was the culprit. So I looked around on my ceilings and I found 3 more smoke-detectors so far. So I have at least EIGHT smoke detectors in my house! And I don't even smoke. And this is a one story house. The builders must have owned stock in Eveready batteries or something.Anyway, when I figured out which smoke-detector was chirping, I put my step-ladder to its first test. I did have to stand on the 3rd step to change the battery. But it was a snap. And I felt comfortably safe on this sturdy piece of equipment. I could not be more pleased with this purchase.

Great high quality stepstool!! worth every penny!!!
I did ALOT of research before purchasing a step stool, I needed something that could be close to the counters as its main objective is to hold my 3yr old baking assistant. However, I knew that it would also be used by the rest of my household as a standard step stool, so it had to be able to hold my 220lb husband as he changed lightbulbs in our 12' entryway and my 160lb self when I cleaned the fixtures. I also needed wide and deep steps as my 14yr old daughter has size 11-1/2 feet and is somewhat afraid of heights(only on shakey ladders or ladders that she cant fully step on). So it also had to be non slipping and with ceramic and hardwood, thats tough, theyre both slick surfaces.I was also concerned by space when folded as what good is a bakers assistants stool if it has to be relegated to the garage? Better if I can keep it in the pantry. Why did I choose easy comforts? It met all of my criteria, AND offered more. I have lupus, so sometimes while doing various tasks, I need a break, with this stool I can take that break with comfort. I liked the foam padded handle so its a comfortable and non slip place for my 3yr old to hold on to when baking. This stool is also quite lightweight for all it is capable of. Despite my health issues, I can carry it and put it away with ease(as long as someone folds it for me first). Why only 4 stars? 1-the coating on the steps is grooved hard plastic, not to comfortable in bare feet, let alone to sit or kneel on, so we replaced it with non slip rubber very easily(5min, $10 fix) and 2- the closing lock just doesnt feel too sturdy and isnt too easy for me to do(I often have to have my husband or one of the kids close it for me, however, I have neuro issues...hubby and kids have no issues with operation).issues aside, I am very happy with my purchase, they are minor(and fixable) in comparison to the wonderful features and sturdiness of this stepstool. Now my 3yr old tells me, "mommy, get my step stool, I need to help" we turn it sideways so the "stairs" are facing me(as if im going to go up),so the handle is available as"protection" in case of a slip and so I can easily reach her, it is far superior to the old method of standing on a kitchen chair...and this stool doesnt slip across my ceramic tile as a chair would. So the princess is happy and so is her mama!!
