Uniden DECT 6.0 Digital Caller ID Cordless Phone (DECT1560)

This phone has all the features you will need. I first thought this was only an expansion handset but quickly notice that it connect to the telephone line, a clue that its a phone. One thing that I had to deal with is registering the phone to the base. The owner manual has the right steps but it does not tell you that to reset the phone you have to unplug both the telephone line and the adapter line and the battery from the phone. You have to leave the phone in this unconnected state for an half hr. This it will register. You can find intercom, walkie speaker-phone, caller ID, phone book, and ringer features all included. Since it does not have an answer machine, you will have to rely on other answer services. Entering numbers into the phone book is easy for any non-tech person. You even have to option of enter area codes so that you don't have to dial 10 digits numbers. The phone is comfortable in your hands, easy to hold between your shoulders and your ear, does not support headsets(headphones type). Its hearing air friendly. Make sure that when you set the features that your within range of the base. Since I got the 6.0 version, its WiFi friendly so no noise on my computer's wireless connections.

Arrived 2 weeks late with a battery that dies every 5-8 seconds its off the charger, avoid like the plague.

I was disappointed in this phone. It works fine but the way it was sent the package looked beat up and damage and it only had one receiver to charge your phone on. So I have two phone headsets with only one charger unit. WHO DOES THAT??? I think the product was used and that's a bit deceiving. The phone works well overall but it just seemed used prior to this.

I was looking for a phone with basic features but easy to use. With my kids playing with equipments all the time, I didn't want to waste much money. This phone is good, delivers what it is meant for. Sound quality is reasonably good. I use it for my Vonage Line. Very satisfied to see its battery life. More than I had expected. For the price I couldn't find anything better.

This phone works fine but appears to be used or maybe refurbished. There was no manufacturer packaging or manual. The price is good but if the item is used it should be clearly stated by the seller.

This is undoubtedly the worst cordless phone I have ever owned! Hadn't had it long (but past the date when it could be returned, unfortunately) when it started messing up. Part of the time I can't even use it because it says "connecting" and I don't get a dial tone. Part of the time when I try to turn it on to make a call, it says "searching" and I can't get a dial tone. Part of the time it says "out of range" when I'm sitting right next to the base. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk! I'm buying a new phone tomorrow from Walmart so I can return it if it doesn't work.

The battery dies too quickly. After a full night and day charging you can only speak on the phone for about 45 mins before it starts to beep. The beeping usually (always) means the battery is dying. Then it needs another 15 hours to charge again until it decides it wants to die in about 45 mins later!

When I was looking for a new phone to use on my kitchen counter I was surprised by the great variety. I was not interested in having an answering component since I have voice mail with my phone company. With only two of us in the household I did not need an extra unit to lost. I was delighted to find this was exactly what I wanted with caller ID and the surprise of a button to push to find the unit under whatever cushion it has slipped under. My husband and I are very happy with it.
