My fingers Hurt!!!
I bought this toy for my seven year old but he could not get the pieces together. I found it very difficult to connect the pieces. Maybe after it has been connected and disconnected a few times it will be easier. The dragons are pretty neat looking and the toy does keep him entertained. My suggestion... Buy this toy only if you (the adult)plan on playing with it too!

Mega Bloks
I bought the Dragon - Warriors Fortress as a gift for my son for Christmas. First, when i bought this iterm it said it was NEW. Well it wasnt. The color is fading/ coming off. One of the dragons light up the other does not. Also, the instructions are very confusing. I am very dissapointed with this product. My son is unhappy that his present turn up to be a mess!

Fabulous teaching tool for kids with autism who love dragons
Wow, what a wonderful, creative teaching toy. Not only is your child able to build his very own medevial world complete with dragons, knights, and castles galore, it comes complete with hiding places, magic power crystals that activiate hidden puzzles, and dragons that animate with lit up eyes when their individual power crystals are inserted. This has been a fabulous teaching tool for helping my son with autism use his language during play. We are able to discuss directional concepts, color ideas, hidden object, and secrets while involved in pretend play. "Wh" questions are getting a marvelous workout with this toy! While the set does need some adult assistance for a child under ten to assemble independently, the opportunities for improving fine motor coordination and team work are all there. As my son and his sister have played with the set, I have been able to encourage give and take conversation and turn taking among them. The fact that this "building block" set is "animated" gives it all that many more teaching points in the area of problem solving and cause and effect relationships.I highly recommend using this playset to "teach to the obession" in any child with a learning disorder who loves dragons!I'd give this set and its related parts ten stars if I could!Liane Gentry SkyeauthorTurn Around, Bright Eyes--snapshots from a voyage out of autism's silence

A legend is born!
This is a really cool worth the money set. Now, you must understand it can only be this good WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED BUILDING IT!! I have to admit that I got really [mad] off when I was trying to build it because the instructions are terrible. But when you have finished it prepare for some epic battles! The detail on the walls and on all the pieces is bluddy realistic and each mini-figure is unique because none of their helmets are the same. And in a little sheet you get with it it tells you each of their names! It comes with two platoons of Silver and Bronze warriors(The Valtheran and the Warfang), six on each team, and with a large variety of deadly looking weapons such as axes, swords, pikes, clubs, and warhammers and a shield for almost every soldier. It also comes with a Blue Dragon and a Red Dragon (a'Rockscorcher'and a'Craigfire')and two armour clad ponies. The Dragons are HUGE and almost worth buying on their own for that price. The eyes of the Dragons light up sinisterly when you put the magic stones in their collars. One of their claws has a magnet in it so it can 'grab' a soldier into its claw to eat them. And there is also a button on their back that you push to make their wings flap.Excellent.Then theres of course the actual fortress which is quite hard to build but is rather worth it in the end. It is very realistic with the worn down walls with a stone look and the wooden ladders. To me, the fortress was`nt the main part of the set but the Dragons and the men.An excellent set to get.You can create excellent battles and adventures with this Warriors fortress.and with a little bit of imagination you could even create the great battle scene of Helm`s deep from The Lord of the Rings. An excellent buy if you`ll forgive the instructions.

Lots of fun with a much better price than Legos
I got this toy for my 6 year old son for Christmas and we both love it. It was fun for us to build together and looks really great. Legos have become such a rip off that it's super to see these sets are available. Also the dragons are awesome, better than anything I've seen from Legos, with eyes that light up when you place the power crystal in their chests, and magnetic claws that can pick up the little "Valtherans" and "Morlacks". Each little warrior looks different and has it's own name. When you put the two power crystals together in the base of the dragon statues they seperate and a scepter thingy slowly pops up to release some golden treasure thing, very cool. The instructions are strange, but pretty easy to figure out. This was a better than expected toy, and that's a rare thing.

Go with Lego's.
I read all the reviews on this before ordering it for Christmas 2002 and wish that I had listened to the "difficult to assemble" crowd and not the "it's fun and easy" crowd. Saying that this is difficult to assemble is an understatement. My son (8 years) and I have assembled many Lego's (the whole Bionicle series among others) and have found that while the large Lego's are time consuming to assemble, the directions are good and the completed toy is sturdy. Mega Bloks, on the other hand, cannot be assembled on anything other than a hard surface, have directions of limited value, and are not sturdy in the least. If you chose Mega Bloks over Lego's, you are trading the time in construction for the quality of the finished product. Moving the Warriors Fortress around is not something you want to do. In fact, in the clutter of Christmas my son bumped it occasionally which always resulted in another 10 minutes of repair. (I might add that he lost interest in the construction after half and hour of trying to get the base to stay together.) Moreover, these piecies are extremely hard to get to fit and don't stay together very well. I know that they are cheaper than Lego's, and take less time to build, but there is a reason for that folks.
