The new Reactor RTL Gen 2 taclight from Viridian Weapon Technologies is a 140-lumen weapon-mounted light capable of running for up to two hours continuously. User-defined operating modes allow a disorienting strobe mode function as well. The Reactor RTL Gen 2 tactical lighting system comes standard with an INSTANT-ON ambidextrous custom microfiber IWB holster with automatic activation upon draw. No buttons. No squeezing. No doubt. This light for self-defense, concealed carry, military and law enforcement further distances itself from competitors with Radiance Combat Optics that stretches the light pattern horizontally to put light where it’s needed most. Available for most leading and recently introduced compact pistols—including the latest from Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory and more.

Compact, sturdy, bright, and looks good. Holster is just “okay”
I just received my viridan rtl light for my xds 3.3 9mm. Let me start by saying the xds is my daily off-duty carry. I really wanted a light for my xds ever since my department issued us a weapon mounted light and finding out how useful it is. I chose the RTL due to it slim and compact design, and also the lumens. The light:PROS: The light is well constructed and feels very sturdy attached to the gun. I do want to note the light attaches to the trigger and the rail. Looks good on the gun. I feel no weight difference or front-heavy feel to the gun since mounting. The light works very well. It will light up a room since it has the “radiance” lighting. There is no central or hot spot with the light. It’s bright enough, and I can’t see needing anymore. It is for a ccw and it’s not like I’d be trying to make a 25 yard with this weapon in a real life scenario. It is simple to install. When the light activates, it has a positive electronic “hum” like turning on a 800 lumen LED flashlight.CONS: if I was not using a holster with the instant on technology, the toggle switch is difficult to manipulate. It’s obviously a small switch, but the flaw is that it is recessed. I understand the design. If had a switch on it like a stream light TLR7, it would probably get switched on accidentally when carrying, especially IWB. Next would be the actual light. While plenty bright and disperses very well, it has a slight bit of “surging.” It will get a small amount brighter then back to the norm. Again, this is very, very slight. It does not discourage me at all.The holster:PROS: the holster is lightweight and suede (with some reinforcing plastic). Looking at a previous review, I did not have the issue of the holster staying attached to the gun upon drawing. I’m not sure if the guy was wearing sweatpants, no belt, or just did not attach the holster correctly. The clip goes around your jeans (or pants) and there is a small hook which links to the underside of your belt. It has adjustable height and cant. It feels very comfortable compared to a kydex holster. I do appendix carry and this iHolster is much more comfortable when sitting. The instant on is awesome! Draw and it’s on. Reholster and it turns off. Amazing feature.CONS: The holster is definitely not going to last years. I feel like it’s going to eventually stretch, loosing form and it’s little bit of retention. My concern is during the summer months. High humidity, high heat, and sweat. It’s going to absorb into the holster and you can figure out the rest. I would have paid more to have a solid holster design option, like kydex. I could get one made, but then I lose the instant on feature.

Light on and off button is difficult to use and holster is to soft and will not stay in place.
I currently own the product which arrived today 2/10/18, per the instructions on the package, I installed the batteries in the light and mounted it on my pistol (XDs 9mm 4.0 in) .... Turning it on is difficult die to the small button on the left side which is difficult to maneuver. The holster that they include with the light is made of leather and has a plastic waist clip. I put it on and upon drawing my firearm, it will come out with the holster still attached. I do small of back concealment and also tried Right side and appendix side, on both occasions the holster will stay attached to my gun and the clip will not hold it down. The concept is great but I think it should have a kydex holster vs soft suede..And the light should be better built. with an easier way to operate the on off button. On the bright side, they are nice enough to give you a gift of appreciation.I'm waiting on their resolve to exchange the holster or refund me.

Good light but has a lot of room for future improvement
The light easily mounted to a Glock 43 with the included batteries and tool. The fit is nice and tight and the finish is ok. It doesn’t extend to the end of the frame but aesthetics don’t bother me much. The ECR instant on works well. I would have liked the manual button to be slightly easier to manipulate in case I need to turn it off without adjusting my grip much. The brightness is good for a small light. The “radiance” technology isn’t noticeable. There is about a half inch of the weapons frame in front of the light that I think could have been used for a multitude of things if the unit filled that space because that extra room could allow for a brighter light, more battery capacity, an additional laser maybe or more important to me would be a separate light for strobe. To me the strobe is useless unless there is also a constant flashlight on as well because trying to see a target under a strobe without the additional constant light is hard and dangerous. A constant light will give the user a clear view and the strobe would still disorient. Overall it’s a good light but a little overpriced and leaves a bit to be desired. As far as durability and reliability, I will post back after it has been used for awhile.

Loved it
Awesome system the holster works well enough for me to want to carry it the light id say is the dullest part pun intended. First time i went out to shoot the light lense fell out. i remember seeing it on the floor thinking what the heck is that and left it there then figured out later what it was and it wasn there when I went back to get it idk if this was qc or poor design. Gonna email them and see if i can get a replacement

Broad, bright light
Small button that you have to get used to. Very bright and wide light. Would have been a five star rating if seller had sent me a brand new unit - mine had been opened and used, but still in new condition.

Not green tint version which is a plus.
Great overall only con is that the button on the RTL is starting to come off. Lost a star for that.
