As a chef this is the best vegetable peeler I have ever used. The blade is carbon steel, this is the sharpest steel and will become discolored and may seem rusty, Simply wipe and dry when finished and will last years, So ignore the negative reviews.

Dull and Rusty After One Use
Unbelievably terrible. I opened it and used it right away to see how sharp it was... it was almost uselessly dull. I then hand washed it in very hot water, rinsed it in even hotter water and let it air dry in a drying rack over night. The next morning, I woke up to see it rusted terribly. It rusted in the joints where the metal meets the cheap plastic handle and all along the edges of the blades. I’m shocked at how truly terrible this product is. BUYER BEWARE, LOOK ELSEWHERE!

Great for the price
Very handy, work well. A bit flimsy and rusts quickly if you have hard (full of minerals) water. Most people don't, and these will be perfect for them!

Peels well, but rusted the first time they were washed.
These peelers were easy to use, but apparently only good for one time use. All three have multiple areas of rust all over the black blades after the first time being run through the dishwasher. Apparently the blades are not stainless steel.
