Instructor says i got a good deal!
Just completed an intro to welding class. Brought my own welder so i could be shown how it works as that will be what i use at home. The course didnt offer consumables for student owned machines so i picked these up. The instructor was shocked at the great price and he says they are as good as any of the overpriced tungsten they offer. I dont know much so i cannot say they are “the best” but for the price i feel confident i can practice and fudge them up over and over without loosing my wallet. Having confidence in yourself and not worrying about ruining super expensive consumables is very helpful in the learning process. Allows me to make mistakes without going broke. Might purchase different “colors” of tungsten in the future to see what works best for me. Again wont break the bank and works as well as overpriced local shop parts.

I am just learning to TIG weld, so I am no authority on tungsten electrodes. These are certainly as good as the ceriated electrodes that Miller packaged with their Miller Dynasty 210 turnkey system. Given that the Midwest Tungsten Service ceriated tungsten electrodes have equal performance compared to the Miller provided electrodes and all the the Midwest Tungsten are significantly cheaper that the electrodes that Miller sells, I will buy all tungsten TIG electrodes from Midwest Tungsten Service in the future.

Good quality, at least for a homegamer
I am definitely not a professional welder, I have a few hours of classes and some time spent messing around at a makerspace. I got these to give me maximum flexibility if I wanted to work with either steel or aluminium. So far I have only used them on steel but they have run just fine in both the makerspace Lincoln and my Vulcan at home. Good price compared to what my local shop had at the time.

Awesome electrodes
I'm a new TIG welder, but these were super easy to use! I expected to burn my first electrode, bury it in the weld puddle, and otherwise abuse it, but none of these happened. I cut the first electrode in 3 pieces, pointed each one carefully using a dremel cutoff wheel and cordless drill, and mounted it in the torch with #5 cup and 5/16" stickout. They started and held a beautiful arc. No discernable wear after about 6 feet of weld on my first electrode. Love these!

Good Value
Have purchased this item twice now. Very good value when compared with what is being charged at a local welding shop. They wanted $50 for a box of ten. With free Prime shipping and no sales tax, at $20, it is really is the best deal going. As to the quality of weld I can do with this verses other brands, I can't tell. I weld both steel and aluminum with this electrode with good results.

The perfect size for aluminum sheet metal!
Been mig welding for a few years and always wanted to do aluminum. This size rod transformed my results and overall experience welding really thin aluminum without burning thru. Was able to pool and tig Redbull cans together and they're thin. Practiced on aluminum roof flashing too which is only .007 thick. Never could have done it without these. Like a different welder!

Great prices and service
I haven’t tried the tungsten yet. However, I can’t give a thumbs up or down because I’m not certified in the Tig process. I bought this because they have great prices and I want to practice.Midwest Tungsten service does provide great customer service and assistance. So for that matter I will purchase more as my skills progress.

Great tungsten at a great price
My job only uses the red and green tungsten and we mainly weld aluminum, but occasionally build with steel, and stainless. I'm using an old Miller synchrowave 350 and this grey tungsten has improved every aspect of my tig welds. They start a bit easier and cleaning action is much tighter around the weld. I've also noticed an increased clarity to the weld "dimes". This could be due to the fact that a sharpened tungsten stays sharp and even the smallest balled tip stays that way. I would definitely recommend this tungsten to others. In fact, I gave everyone in the shop a half electrode and they have all given rave reviews compared to the red and green.
