Sony Cybershot DSCW150/B 8.1MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot (Black)

I had a Sony W90 and got it stolen. Then waited for this one to be available on the market and Sony seems to keep impressing and improving their line of point and shoot cameras.I had my old camera for 1 year, and I take pictures quite often. This camera focus very nice and takes sharp pictures on all occacions. Extra zoom (I had the sony W90 and P200 just with 3X) is great. Controls are easy to use, easy to understand and it comes packed with lots of pictures, including "smile detection" tech. I tried it and it works just fine.I can keep going and going but it would be easier to read the specs, I can resume this review with: "BUY IT" you won't regret it, it is a great camera with a great price, I've had it for about 3 weeks already and taken hundreds of pictures, if not thousands.Edited 10/11/09After over a year of owning this product, I would take 1 or 2 stars away from my initial review. I have a 1 year old son, so I began giving a lot of extra work to the camera.I had a big disappointment when it came to shooting at night or on low light conditions. I like testing over and over with different settings to get the perfect picture. I've tried using auto mode, program mode, ISO mode, less flash on the pictures, you name it, even took some advices from the internet. Focus is not ok, grainy pictures, too much noise on them. Need to take lots of pictures just to see what works the best, and still I can't get a decent picture. some of them are ok, but most of them are not.After being so disappointed at this I've been researching and reading different reviews on different cameras. Seems it's hard to find a point and shoot that can take nice pictures with low light conditions. I was hoping the new sony WX/1 would fix that, but so far the reviews talk about similar results. I am reading about a panasonic camera that ppl had said it does a nice work, but it doesn't have manual controls like the sony. not sure what I will do, and if I get the panasonic or the sony wx/1 I'll be shooting low light conditions and write a review asap.

The media could not be loaded. This camera is absolutely AMAZING, came with all of the items, cords, cases, CD, and sims card. Looked new with maybe 3 minor small scratches. Also great customer service with consistent communication. The camera came within a week of ordering!!

I've only had the camera for 2 days and I think it is great I never went and tested it in a store, I choose it merely from all the features and comparisons, I will write a longer review later. the only downside I have found so far which I didn't come across while shopping is NO ZOOM IN VIDEO MODE!! not real happy about this, but the video quality is fantastic. wanted anyone shopping now to know this. otherwise it is a fantastic camera it feels great in the hand, easy to use and even more stylish than i thought

SONY PRODUCES GREAT PRODUCTS AND I WASNT DISAPPOINTED, WANTED A GOOD CAMERA AND CHOSE THIS ONE BASED ON PEOPLE'S REVIEWS. I TOOK THIS CYBERSHOT TO VEGAS RECENTLY, AND LOVED IT! SO MUCH THAT MY FRIENDS CALLED ME THE PAPARAZZI!! I SNAPPED AWAY ON THIS THING. AT PEOPLE AND THINGS IN VEGAS. AND ALSO RECORDED VIDEO, IT CAME OUT GREAT. I ALWAYS USED THE EASY BUTTON FOR AUTOMATIC SHOTS, "ISO" BUTTON TO GET A NO FLASH PICTURE EFFECT. MAKE SURE TO AJUST THE STEADY HAND FEATURE TO ON. I have now purchased 2 Sony cameras but will never buy from them again.I had this Cybershot camera, and started having problems with it after 6 months. The camera would turn on, but the picture was black. Everytime I would take a picture it would also be black. I used their tech support over the phone and two times they were able to walk me through the problem to solve it. When I asked if I would need to buy the extended warranty they said no since it was a re-occurring problem.Now my camera is out of warranty, and they are no longer able to walk me through how to fix it over the phone. Instead they want to charge me $111 just for labor to take a look at the camera and that doesn't include a price for any parts needed. When I called customer service they said there is nothing that they could do about the problem and that I would just have to pay to have it fixed. (Not to mention I could buy a new camera for the same price off of Amazon.)IT seems like this is now there way of making money.I will never buy another Sony product, and I hope this doesn't happen to you. Beware, their customer service is only there to help you when it serves them, but magically they can't fix the problem over the phone anymore when it will benefit them financially not to do so.

I own multiple Sony digital cameras and was searching for one that was compact. On the positive side, it has great features which is what attracted me to it. It also has a quality feel when held in the hand. However, it fails where it counts and that is in image quality. I am by no means a novice and this camera produces inconsistent images. Indoor, the weak flash raises the ISO level so that the result is a grainy photo. Some face shots are acceptable and some are washed out. Image quality outdoor is also inconsistent. This is a camera that should have been a winner for Sony but it appears that someone failed to test it under all shooting conditions. I still like Sony and thus, will wait for the next generation of this camera and hopefully, the bugs will have been corrected.
