Just what I needed
I started a new job in September where I'd be working from home a couple days each week. So I needed something to handle multiple programs running at once, remote accessing my work computer, and last through daily use. So far, more than 8 months later, it has been perfect. It's easy to work on each day, it handles all the programs I can have going at once (like 5 or 6 sometimes), very easy to type on and I love the volume and brightness control buttons along the top. And it was so cheap compared to the Best Buy price and of course other computers. I was a great purchase and hopefully it holds up well for me....fingers crossed!

Arrived On Time and Good Condition
I am an iMac person and purchased this computer to run a couple of applications that don't run well on the Mac OS like MS Word. This laptop at under $400 is a great value, in particular the memory you get, but the keyboard has a bit of a cheap feel to it. If one is getting a cheap laptop, the amount of memory is important since Windows is a memory hog. Anyway the performance from this laptop is excellent other than the keyboard.

a simple but inadequate portable typewriter...
Replaces a similar model that crashed after only 18 months. All I use my laptop for is email and online searches, so no superfast speed needed. This is an Intel i3 processor (old and slow, like me!!).NB: Unlike the older/more expensive Dell model that this replaces, THIS unit does NOT have backlit keys, and again, unlike the older model, THIS UNIT does NOT have a CD/DVD player; the slot/space is there, but not the player itrelf.EDIT 6 MARCH 2020. I would NOT buy this model again. I really miss having a lighted keyboard: this is USELESS in a dark room. It is also S-L-O-W: when watching Amazon Prime videos, the video stops and I get a window that says "device does not have enough bandwidth." This model does not have a CD/DVD player. And it is HEAVY. I am very disappointed! I am not a techie, so I am sure that I could point out other deficiencies, but next time I will spend the money and get a beefier model/ more features, and for sure a backlit keyboard. Right now, this is a halfassed overpriced glorified electronic typewriter with few redeeming qualities.

A piece of crap
This laptop is a huge piece of crap. I bought it because my last laptop crashed and I was hoping this one would be better. Instead I have had nothing but problem after problem with it. It took forever to set up... we were on the phone with customer service for 3 days. Then it decided to crash in the middle of the week when I needed it... I almost lost everything. I had to completely factory reset it. Now the mouse pad doesn't work, it keeps freezing and crashing and it's just a huge headache. If I could give less than 1 star I definitely would.

I love the performance.
and my clumsy thumbs create a rogue cursor even though I lowered the sensitivity. The Inspiron 15, 3000 series does everything I need for University work.

It's ok.....
Does not have a CD or DVD rom, speaker is low - you have to add speakers or bluetooth for louder volume. It runs slow. Notice they don't have the "Year" of this model in their description. It is 2004. I should've researched this more before buying. Other than that, its ok.
