THINKPAD X1 EXTREME BATTERY LIFE
GOT MY HANDS ON THINKPAD X1 EXTREME YESTERDAY. It has amazing speed , the best battery life I have come across , very lightweight , and very well finished. Charges from 20 to 100 percent within an hour and 20 mins. Only drawback is it gets extremely heated so you cant keep it on the lap for a long time.

It feels and acts like a cheap laptop
I ordered this laptop for a lab / engineering environment. Here is my list of gripes.1.) The power supply feels really cheap and is super small. The power cable that plugs into the wall is the cheapest I've ever seen.2.) The laptop body is an absolute fingerprint / dust magnet. More so than an other laptop I have in the lab.3.) Upon initial startup I noticed the mouse / hard disk stutters. Conducted various fixes to the trackpad and it still stutters. Feels like a poor SSD implementation.4.). DPI blurring - Most text in almost every window is blurry. You can fix this deep in the settings for the display by clicking on 'Advanced Scaling Options" and turning the Windows control function ON.5.) The main vent for the GPU is on the bottom of the laptop. If you place it on a solid surface you deprive the GPU from adequate ventilation and the laptop will heat up and possibly develop performance issues. If you are looking for something to conduct embedded design elements with I would go with the Ultrabook and get the 16Gb RAM option with Windows 10 Pro.If you are looking for a no-compromise laptop that feels robust and can be used for gaming or engineering the Acer Predator line is where I would go. I have many of those running 24 hours a day and they are work horses!

Expensive and unreliable
I owned a HP mid-level $900 laptop that ran CAD programs and everything else needed for a small business with no issues for 3 years. I finally decided to treat myself to an "upgrade". Went online and spec'd out the Lenovo X1 extreme. Best processor they offered, graphics card and 32 gb of ram. Total cost of aroun 3k.After waiting 3 weeks for it to arrive from Lenovo, I've had to call the service department multiple times and each time they have been absolutely no help.Issues: When plugged into the charger the computer quits recognizing the charge and stays on low power and won't charge until the computer has been hard reset a few times. The default speakers have quit working multiple times. Hard reset to correct again. Multiple blue screen crashes. The computer runs hotter than any other computer I've ever had or been around. The fan is very noisy.Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

DON'T BUY!!
Lasted exactly 2 years and 1 month. Important to note that this is 1 month past all warranties offered at time of purchase. Fried motherboard. This was a very expensive laptop, all the best specs, etc. Worked well for 2 years. As a former fan of Lenovo, I must say that their recent laptops are not worth buying. The quality has gone way downhill from the IBM days (this goes without saying) Possibly even more important... their customer service isn't just bad, it is virtually nonexistent. I talked to a very helpful and friendly Lenovo person at first to help diagnose the issue, then the service team just gave up and told me that there is nothing that could be done and offered no alternatives. So I am left with a >3k$ laptop that lasted 2 years which Lenovo apparently doesn't want anything to do with. Very, very disappointed. Don't make the same mistake I did...buy from pretty much any other laptop brand.

Flimsy, bad production quality, tends to over heat
I had this laptop for slightly under 2 years and the motherboard died. It had a tendency to overheat even with minimal tabs open. It's poorly designed inferior product.
