Mostly Helpful
I bought this camera for a couple of specific uses and was both happy and disappointed. For the most part I'm happy with it. I pretty much got it up and running without the need for instructions. It's easy to operate, easy to use, and has a clear picture. However, I couldn't really use it for the two purposes I needed it for. One was to get up behind the dash of my new truck and read the master door code from the security box. I tried to feed it in, but could never get the right angle. I ended up having to take the cup holder out to read it. The other use was to feed it behind a gang box for a media bridge and see if the wall was hollow further up, so I could add another box.In both instances, lack of light was an issue. If I was able to shine a couple of bright flashlights and light up the cavity, then the camera would show a clear picture at a distance. However, if it relied on the light of the camera, then it's no good at any distance. If it's fairly close, then you don't have an issue, so you could feed it down a sink drain and easily see a ring, but you'll need a brighter work area to see at a distance with this device.Otherwise I was pleased. It connects easily to my phone and I don't have issues with it dropping that connectivity. The wire bends and holds it's shape pretty well.I recommend this product, just make sure you're using it for tight spaces with a straight line to what you want to see or you might be disappointed. Either that, or you can pump a lot of light into the space.

Utter junk
Utter junk. Doesn't even merit the one star Amazon requires me to give. It's going back today.Instructions are incomplete or just plain wrong. For example: their four-step how-to-use instructions end with "Opean the YCamera app, click start. Then you can start using it." Nope. App does nothing.E.g., "Long press the power button twice, the Wi-Fi box will turn off." Nope. I can't figure out how to turn the stupid thing off. And what is a "long press" anyway? Long press in my case simply turns on/off the illuminating LED on the battery case. It's not even clear what this LED is for. Also, the LED flashes in many pretty colors. There's no description of what the various colors and modes (flashing/steady) mean, which, of course, makes the LED pointless. When I connect my iPhone to the WiFi of the camera, and then try to rename the SSID, I receive that marvelously helpful dialog box "Error Occurred", with no elaboration. Okay. What is the user to do in order to make this darn thing work? Junk software strikes again.

Outstanding Tool To Have
I saw where some had issues with the instructions which to me were pretty straight forward. Charge up the unit for a few hours. Then download YCamera App to phone. Then plug in camera cable to micro USB that says camera next to LED and power button. Then press power and go to phone's wifi connections, there you will see a new wifi network with "Endoscope" in the name. Connect to it and say "yes" stay connected without internet. Then open app and click START. Worked great and easy to use. Now to turn off is just two simple presses of the power button not a long press twice like it says. The long press is for the flashlight to turn on and off. Hope that helps some out there. For the price it was great and did the job I needed it for.

Useful, good value
The product works well for what it is designed for. For example, I needed to see how an electrical junction box was being supported but could not remove the box. I drilled a small hole in the ceiling, then inserted the camera into the hole. The light on the camera was plenty bright, making it easy to see clearly with the camera. The camera's focus is fixed at about 2" I estimate. So you can very clearly read text with the camera 2" from the text, but you couldn't clearly read the text from say 8" away. That is not a flaw, it is just so you can use the camera to focus on something close to it. The flexibility of cable was just right, not too stiff that it wouldn't bend but not too flimsy that it wouldn't hold. You need to download a free app on your phone to use the camera. The app is simple and it was easy to connect the camera to the app. I have not experienced any issues connecting the camera nor have I had any issues with the app. It is really intuitive. Lastly, the mirror, magnet, and hook tools are very handy. (Make sure to remove the plastic from the mirror before using it. It is added to protect the mirror. I didn't realize this initially).I'd recommend this camera for the price.
