Badly designed, unreliable, doesn't last
A really disappointing product. This was fitted in my motorhome 2 years ago and it has broken down endless times. It's poorly thought out, badly put together, and there is no support when things go wrong.Firstly neither spark unit worked out of the box as they had been installed the wrong way round. The cabling from the piezo ignition was so fragile that clicking the igniter had caused one of the wires to fall off. I had to modify the crimp to ensure it stayed on.The wiring to both thermocouples is super fragile and failed within a couple of months meaning neither burner would stay lit. I had to resolder these to make a proper connection. The unit is designed that water from the sink frequently spills straight into the burners. The burner caps have no coating underneath and rust before your eyes, eventually blocking the jets and causing the flames to either go orange, splutter and flare, or stop working completely, creating a risk of explosion or carbon monoxide poisoning. The seals on the burner rings wear easily and eventually fail causing any water to drip underneath the unit and cause dampness on the floor. The rubber screw caps / lid stops do not fit snugly and frequently fly out / go down the drain when you open the glass lid. Finally the whole unit scratches and marks incredibly easily. First time I used the hob I laid a cold pan on top of the glass which had a bit of rice stuck to the bottom. The rice was enough to cause a scratch in the glass. It's not the tough glass you'd expect on a hob, it's very soft indeed and scratches just looking at it. The metal body of the unit is the same - it marks even using a soft wool type scrubber.A couple of years old and the thing is absolutely done. I'll install a cheap domestic gas hob next time, it will last longer and be much cheaper.
