More expensive, but worth it in Improved comfort and long-lasting maintenance free use.
I got this to replace an old Lafuma. I couldn't imagine summer without being able to really stretch out (I'm 6'2") and feel completely relaxed. This new one is longer and wider, with more cushioning; has an attractive, high-quality black coating. It's light enough to easily shift from one spot to another.. plus, It came fully assembled - all I had to do was lift it out of the box and it was good to go.

Great quality; very comfortable; often pricey
I have purchased 5 Lafuma lounge chairs over time. I have had 2 that had the woven fabric that was good for outdoors, if needing to wash them down, that used a bungee cord attachment, which could be restrung when wearing thin. I had a canvas chair that used the clip system to attach, which likely can't be as easily fixed if it breaks down, but it hasn't happened yet. And, I have had two of this version of chair, which is the highest cost, and varies greatly in price with just a different color fabric. I liked the peacock blue color, but it was priced $100 over what the black color was. It's ridiculous!I do use the chairs with clients for Reflexology, where you work on the feet. This zero-gravity chair raises the feet higher than other brands I have tried out, which I need. The padded fabric does give an extra level of comfort. I have had some client come in, or their referrals come in, saying that they have heard a lot about my chair. That is not the main reason they should be coming to me, but if the zero-gravity is giving them a sense of comfort and ease, that is a bonus! If people bounce around a lot in the chair, which some inexplicably do, to talk about pains they have in their back that they seem to want to show me while sitting, or one reached behind him to grab his phone, which put extra strain on the chair, they have instantly broken it down. However, it does seem to be sturdier than other brands I tried, and I need a chair that does not break down while a client is using it. I keep them indoors, with the occasional times of using them outside, but then I bring them back in. In 12 years, I have gone through 5 chairs, 2 of which are still in use. When I had the bungee cord version, I restrung them 3 times. I buy the XL size to best meet most people's comfort in using it. If you are petite, a regular size chair may be best for you, as even when you are tall, getting in and out of the XL chair takes a bit of squirming, but once in, it is very comfortable. I also like that the XL chairs have your arms a slightly more distant from the body. If under 5'6", I would definitely just get the regular size chair. For others it depends upon preference.Lafuma is more expensive than other brands, so I tell people that want to get a zero-gravity chair that they may want to try out the tester chairs in stores in the spring, when they often bring them out, to see if the lower cost versions fit their needs. There are often many attachments, such as drink trays, side pockets, umbrellas, etc. But, if you are very tall, have a heavier weight, or just know the chair is going to be used very frequently, you may find the quality of Lafuma to best suit your needs.

This is a very expensive recliner but fails due to a fatal design flaw and can't be repaired.
This recliner is very comfortable but only lasted 6 months of use.I have a problem with a recliner I bought. It has failed due to an inherent design flaw. I would like support in contacted the vendor. It is a Lafuma Futura XL Air Comfort Zero Gravity Chair (Acier Black) Extra Large Padded Recliner. The seat is sewn to the frame at the top and bottom and attached to the side by rubber like plastic moldings which form a multiplicity of clips. These moldings are sewn to the seat. This arrangement greatly reduces the assembly labor compared to the lacing which represented the previous art. This brings us to the design flaw. Each of the multiple clips is defined by a sharp corner which creates a stress concentrator. This first one the several adjacent clips to fail, being ripped off the molded part. The problem is exacerbated by the molded part being sewn to the seat and the seat sewn to the frame. This makes it impossible to repair. With the previous art, all you had to do is install new lacing. That is no longer an option. The chair is rated at 310 lbs. I, at 180 lbs, am the heaviest person who sat in it.

The most comfortable and well-built chair
I bought this LaFuma XL Air Comfort zero gravity chair. I chose it in extra-large size with padding for my husband for his 65th birthday. He's not a big guy but he sure appreciates the extra room. The padding is high quality and very comfortable. He lasted about 20 minutes and he was asleep on the deck. He loves it! It folds up nicely for storage. It's very well built. I wish I had one for myself. It's not the cheapest but it's worth every penny.

The weak link
It was nice while it lasted. Almost 3 years. And it was bought used from Amazon resale. The rivet that attaches the back of the armrest to the frame busted. That’s the weak point. But it is lighter than all the rest. I use these recliners a lot. The cheap ones wear out faster and are heavier etc. Sooo spend more for quality that lasts longer or replace cheap ones more often.

Worth the price
I tried this chair in a rented holiday house. It was the first time I ever fell asleep in a chair. Normally not a back sleeper, but it was very relaxing. It is not cheap, that is why I looked for good rated alternatives. I ended up sending them back. They were or too small, not padded, different zero gravity position or it was difficult to change position without holding on to something.I still think it is pricey, but do not regret the purchase. It‘s perfect for napping and a good size for my 6 feet. I hope it will last me a while.

Great for a while then broke!
This chair was the best for a while. I used it when I was pregnant and needed to put my feet up and absolutely loved it. We used it for indoors even though it's for outdoors because indoor zero gravity chairs are even more expensive so this was a reasonable solution for us. Unfortunately, after a few years of regular use, the chair cushion that is sewn on just ripped off the frame one day when I was getting up from it. I am 5'7'' and 140 lbs, pretty average size. I am so bummed my chair wasn't more durable :(

Great quality, very comfortable, beautiful look and design!
I recently purchased 2 of these new Lafuma chairs. I have an old pair of the original Lafumas that I restrung twice before deciding to buy new ones.If you're 5'7" or taller, get the XL version.I also bought the snap on side trays for drinks, phone, snacks. These chairs are more comfortable than the older style...and more padded, yet water drains right through! The best of the best. Don't buy the imitators!Michael - So. California
