Awesome rear seat!
I installed this on the rear of a Jeep YJ. The seat is nice and firm and the flip and fold is smoother and tucks away nicer than the OEM. I was really impressed with the installation hardware provided. A couple of my bolts were rusted and broke off when I removed the old seat. Bestop provided all new bolts and mounts as well as backing threaded but plates to make any knstallion problems a non insurance so to no run to the hardware store needed!

The seat looks great and is an updated styling to the traditional bench rear seat for Jeep YJ's. The vinyl seems strong and durable. The folding mechanism works like expected. I did have to put a washer under the latch plate to raise it up from the floor so that it would catch more easily. It was barely catching before, but it was an easy fix. All hardware was included except it did tell me to re-use the existing bolts that went to the floor for the new posts, however whoever owned my jeep before me took them out so I was forced to go buy my own grade 8 bolts. Not a huge deal, but would have been nice for that floor size to be included. It included bolts for I think CJ's where there's not already a welded nut under the body, but they were a narrower diameter bolt so they didn't work. Again, not a huge deal, but worth noting if you're missing your rear seat and all hardware currently.

The seat is much better than the original and seems to be good quality
As another reviewer stated, the seat is a dark gray not black. The seat is much better than the original and seems to be good quality. Installed mine on a 1984 CJ7. It didn't line up with any of the existing holes and I had to drop the gas tank to install the rear latch. I took off a star for Bestop going on the cheap for the hardware. 13mm bolts with washers that barely cover the holes in the brackets. You are given 5 bolts total, 2 for each of the front brackets and 1 for the rear latch even though there are 3 holes in the bracket. Overall the kids like the seat.

Don't order the black denim thinking your getting black!
Nothing against Amazon here. I bet the seat itself was pretty nice, however the color became an issue. Wanting black and cloth, I ordered the black denim one and ended up with dark gray! So I sent it back thinking I received the wrong one. Once the second one was delivered I was again excited and quickly dissapointed when it too was dark gray. So then I decided to call Bestop themselves to get to the bottom if the issue. The gal I spoke with was very friendly but informed me that the black denim seat was in fact a dark gray not black. So I asked why do they call it black and she didn't have a definitive answer, so I let it go and ordered the black vinyl one and it is in fact black, only problem is I wanted cloth and black, unfortunately you get one or the other with Bestop I guess?!

Some people don’t like this “black” that Bestop puts out.
Very well made and replaced my older fold & tumble very well.

Great and comfortable seats
Really like the way these seats look and feel. The fit and finish is fantastic. For the front seats, they do sit a bit higher than the stock seats they replaced. It may just be primarily the additional thigh length and slight upward angle of the seat bottom, but it's definitely noticeable. Otherwise, excellent seats and they look great. The rear seat is great, no noticeable difference in height from the original. I was worried that the headrests would stick up more than they do, but it really looks great.

It fit a 84 CJ7 with minor drilling into body.
Seat works great. Does require some drilling into the body of a 1984 CJ7 but I was able to use two of the existing holes so it lined up easy. I used the holes from the old art on seat for the seat belts. Good quality and a fabric feel all around. Not sticky vinyl. Folds over and then folds up for more storage if needed. It does have a hook that mounts in the back for the seat to hook on so it limits the ice chest storage unless you build something to go over the hook. Good quality.

Easy to install and looks great.
Nicer than the original seat it was easy to install in my 1992 YJ. The manufacturer should work on their packaging. My box was damaged and holed, and had parts bouncing around inside. I'll lucky that something wasn't lost. But no hard no foul. Not five starts since the fold down mechanism is more complex than the original and I'm afraid I it will not last nearly as long as the 27 years the original stood up.
