Mrs. Renfro’s Green Salsa – Gluten Free (16-oz. jars, 4-pack)

Great taste, a bit sweet, but not super spicy for those of us with a tolerance. I mix this with the Ghost Pepper Salsa for the excellent taste. I was looking for knock out spiciness, and it is a little bit, but I staid for the flavor. Have ordered this so many times.

This is my favorite salsa. It's hard to find at the store so I order it and it's nice to get a 2 pack. Our family loves spicey and this is just right. The flavor is great and it's good on EVERYthing! We put it on eggs, tacos, nachos, sandwiches, basically anything.

I used to purchase this at Walmart they no longer sell it....so now I purchase it on Amazon.It is expensive on Amazon but I can't find it anywhere else.

This salsa, the HABANERO, from Mrs. Renfro's is hands-down my favorite through the years. We are a "spicy" family and have a collection of around 20 always in rotation. Different spice levels, textures, brands, uses. For every day, this one is the staple-- a great salsa for chips/dip and so on. Understandably, we consume spicier foods than many might like, yet all said...would still categorize this one as a MED-HOT. The Ghost Pepper is most definitely the next spice level up (which I also like, but is too much for the average). This one is simply great alone or added into things- flavor not too heavy with tomato, not at all smoky (I personally don't like that) and texture teetering on perfect...any chunkier and I wouldn't like it. Out of literally HUNDREDS of salsas tried, again, as a daily this one is a consistent winner amongst our group of friends & family. *FYI: Anyone that thinks Tabasco is a salsa- it's not...it's a hot sauce. Totally different thing from salsa. And for reference, with "sauces," people are either Tabasco/ Tapatio or Cholula- I'm anything other than Tabasco, as that's just flavored vinegar.

I enjoy Mrs. Renfros Ghost pepper salsa (it is my favorite store bought salsa) so I was excited about the Carolina Reaper salsa. Given that the Carolina Reaper pepper is supposedly hotter, I was disappointed that the salsa was not as hot as the ghost pepper salsa. It is also much sweeter (almost sugary) than the Ghost pepper salsa. The Carolina Reaper salsa has a descent flavor and a little kick, but the ghost pepper salsa is hotter and more savory. The Carolina Reaper is not a bad salsa, but I will stick with the ghost pepper salsa for now.

All of the Mrs Renfro’s salsa varieties are delish. This one is spicy good!

My new favorite salsa

I have tried most of Mrs. Renfro's Salsas except the Carolina Reaper - I like it hot, but I also like the pepper flavor. The Ghost Pepper salsa is just pure burn and no flavor. To me, the Habanero hits the spot between heat and flavor. It has a wonderful fruity peppery flavor and ample heat. The tomato comes out, adding a pleasant sweetness. I use this as my general purpose salsa and it performs admirably.As a side note, the dual packaging I received it in is amazing - Amazon shipping can sometimes be a little wreckless, but the shipment arrived in a Mrs. Renfro's box and each jar was held firmly in place by a molded paper piece. I live outside the continental US and buying glass products can turn out badly - there's a really good chance this salsa will arrive intact.
