Exceeds expectations -- best invention since the iPod.
This device towers above every silly, derivative and gratuitous novelty being peddled by aspiring entrepreneurs on "Shark Tank," where the message is: To the Energy Bunny goes the gig (with Mark, if you're lucky). I expected another screwdriver with a magnetic tip barely holding a screw straight enough and long enough to be effective without an electric drill. Much to my surprise, this invention ("gadget" is too frivolous a word for a tool as practical as this) is better than a 2nd human helper (even one willing to withstand multiple blows to the fingers)! An ingenious spring works in combination with the tool's slotted holder to enable precision alignment of your screw followed by near-permanent attachment between the driver and the screw--from starting the screw-hole to finishing the job. The Klein Phillips screwdriver is with you every millimeter and millisecond of the way.Just a couple of cautions: 1. The size of the screw head is everything. Make sure it's a "wood screw" with a head that's sufficiently wide and deep (the tiny area that fans out from the screw to the underside of the head). If it's the wrong size, you should know immediately, as it won't earn a solo spot at the screwing end of the device. (I had some "ringers" that were instantly expelled.). 2. Don't get "vicious" about turning the driver until it absolutely will not budge. The driver has a clever "safety" that should prevent you from "over-screwing." Try to be good with "tight": no need to exhaust all your "might." Don't push it. It knows what it's doing.I bought my first iPod in 2002. I wish I could say this intelligent screwdriver is the best invention since the iPhone (2008), but sadly (for me) a device that tries to be a phone in addition to an iPod, a quality camera, an audio-video recorder, a GPS, a movie theater, and a computer amounts to one confusing (not to mention confused) telephone. Oscar goes to Klein Tools.

Every tool box needs this!
I grew tired of screws falling off the screwdriver whenever I worked overhead or horizontally, such as on ceiling fans, can lights, and cabinet hinges. I used to tape them on the head of the screwdriver, but that's a pain. Then I saw this product and have never looked back. It simply does the job, holds the screw on the driver till it's started. It does this with a built-in spring loaded sliding sleeve. This is a well made tool that maintains Klein reputation as a quality AMERICAN company. I highly recommend this tool.Note: It will hold most std size and shape screws, however if the screw has an oversized washer type head, it won't fit in the holder (but it will still work as a straight up #2 Phillips driver on all screws).

will not hold small screws
While this is a well made, useful tool be advised it will not hold a screw with a head diameter of less than 5/16 inch. I am a bit disappointed, but I will keep it because I made the purchase and I can use it in certain situations.

Klein 32215 1/4-Inch Slotted Screw-Holding Screwdriver
This Klein screw-holding screwdriver has been working great for me. The driver has a 1/4" wide straight blade and sliding spring loaded plastic sleeve with an open retainer claw on the end to apply pressure under the screw head and hold it securely in place. I've found that it will also hold some screws with a head that is too small for the retainer to catch if centered, like #6/32 electrical device mounting screws, but if I push them all the way down inside the holder it will often catch on one side of the screw head for me. The screw will be offset from the center of the blade, but still at least allows me to start the screw one handed if needed. I've tried this driver with many different screw head styles such as pan head, cheese head, flat, hex head, oval, round, fillister, washer head and it held each of them securely. For years I've used Klein's older wedge style screw-holding drivers and they also work well, but I now prefer to use this new style driver whenever possible.

Saved me a lot of frustration
Framing for a medicine chest and reaching far into the wall to start long screws in the pockets I had created, the screws would fall off the long Phillips bit I was using because it was not magnetized. I went looking for long long magnetized bits, ordered some and this screwdriver came up in the search. I ordered it an it worked great for starting those screws. If I only use it to complete this one project it will be well worth it, but the need will come up again, not doubt.

Cheap, Klein....
This has a plastic sheath on it that makes it feel like a nickle and dime screwdriver, when I first opened the box up, I thought they had sent me the wrong item, because Klein is usually high quality. I don't see this screwdriver lasting very long with it's cheap, plastic holding sheath. BOO...Klein!

fantastic tool
This starter screw driver for a Phillips head screw is the best tool I have ever used. It firmly holds the screw so you can start it in those hard to reach areas. What a time saver. Also it's a Klein tool and it is quality.

Disappointed
This screwdriver did not work for me, the screws just pop out and wind up on the floor. I’m surprised it has the Klein name on it

Usefull, but limited to one type of drive
This is well made and handy for getting screws into recesses, where finger can't reach. The grip on the screw in very positive. However it is limited to just one drive size and type, Phillips size 2. I would have preferred PZ2, but that was not available, but this is good enough to get PZ2 screws started, then revert to a PZ2 driver. The "Stanley 969188 Fatmax Clip-n-Grip Multibit Screwdriver" takes interchangeable bits, but is more expensive and larger across, so won't fit into smaller recesses.

Good quality tool
Impressive screwdriver that will stop you getting annoyed when the screw keeps falling off the end... holds well in place and allows you to drive it home!

A steal for £11
This is great little tool, perfect (for me anyhow) for starting cross head screws off in confined spaces. Not sure how long it'd hold up being used every day in say a building environment but that's not the point of this tool, if you like me often have to get access to cross heads in tight spaces or you're fed up with dropping screws, say when up a ladder, then grab one fast. The other redeeming feature is the price; mine cost something like £11 and unbeknown to me came from the USA, although there was no delivery charges or import duty to pay.Take a look on a flea bay as to how much these things sell for if you need another reason to buy one.
