good quality - easy to use
i hesitated to buy because they were not returnable. glad i took the chance! These are the same exact quality and brand as the shower shield/covers provided to us by the hospital. the tape is strong and is only around the perimeter of the plastic cover so there is no need to cover the the wound or the dressing to protect it from the tape. the 10x12 fits well over the front of a large knee and perfectly protects the wound and the long dressing from water. the tape is strong so be careful not to catch the edge of the dressing so that the dressing stays intact and does not lift! dont immerse in water , use just to avoid getting dressing/wound splashed in shower. though strong, the tape has not hurt the skin when removing. this is an awesome easy to use product and am so grateful!

Workable
I ordered the 10 x 12 inch size Shower Shield to cover a trial spinal stimulator. It was the largest size listed and I thought one would easily cover the device and the leads inserted in the spine. It wasn't quite large enough so I actually had to use two and overlap them. Here's what you need to know.First, it did the job and was better than Saran wrap and tape. There are a few things we learned along the way that might help you. When I realized one shield wouldn't be enough and I was going to have to piece two together, I used sterile dressings over the device and bandages so if the shield leaked, there would be extra protection that would hopefully keep everything dry. This worked and one shield did stick well to the other. The material of the Shower Shield is kind of crinkly - think a thinner, clear potato chip bag as opposed to say, a freezer bag. It doesn't mold or stick to what you are trying to cover. This is both a benefit and something you have to work around. If the wound you are covering is on a flat area of the body, it will be easier. I suggest securing the top first and then work down the sides. When you come to the bottom, unless what you are covering is nearly flat, you are not going to have a nice smooth seal. It was more challenging for our use because the device and dressings were bulky. What worked best for me was to seal everything I could and pinch the excess adhesive of each side together and fold over and then tape down the excess; kind of like a pleat. They are reasonably easy to put on. If you follow the directions and go slowly when you pull the tape off, they won't fold over and stick to another part of the shield. I peeled off one side, stuck that down, then moved to another section. The first time, I didn't add any additional tape and the shield leaked a very little. It was a very small amount and because of the dressings and plastic I had used to cover everything under the shield, it only got to the first layer of the pads; nothing came close to soaking through to the device or the wounds, thankfully. The second time, I cleaned the skin extra well with alcohol then put on the shield, then used white cloth medical tape. The tape didn't hold at all and cleaning the skin didn't seem to create any better bond with the shield than without cleaning. The third time, I used Nexcare waterproof tape around all four sides, on the areas on the bottom I had to pleat, and on the spot where I pieced the two shields together and it worked better than the white tape, but water still got under the tape, but nothing at all got under the shield using the combination of waterproof tape, plastic, and the dressings.I will say, water got under the waterproof tape and the seal on the Shower Shields all eight times we used them, but it was never in great amounts and usually the shield would lift, but not let loose entirely. The shields didn't hurt or tear the skin when they were pulled off either. The patient was careful in the shower and he said he didn't expose the shield to the direct spray of the shower.I would recommend them, but if the wound or whatever you are covering absolutely can't get wet, take the precaution of adding extra protection under the shield and add waterproof tape all around the edges of the Shower Shield.

Does not work unless your body is flat like a a beam of wood
I had stomach surgery and am not as smooth as a poll so as soon as I moved in the shield, it sprung holes in the sealant. I watched the video included in the instructions and followed everything. After it first failed, I overlapped the sealant in multiple shields and medical tape hoping it would be okay to shower but when I got out and took them off a puddle of water came with it. All my stitches are wet now.

Disappointed
The size and idea was fine but did not stay sealed in the shower. Needs better sealant then would be great.
