Nice Little DAC
Edit (4/14/25): The seller saw my review and decided to work with me to see if we could fix the high pitch I was hearing. While we couldn't in the end, it does seem to be a rare issue and they offered me a full refund to purchase a new one. Changing from 3->5 stars because of the exceptional customer service.-----I bought this DAC as an affordable option for my office setup, and overall, it performs well. The build quality is solid, with responsive dials and more than enough power for my needs. Setup was straightforward, and the sound is clear, especially at lower volumes. However, I did notice a high-pitched whistle when using the USB input from my desktop. Even turning the treble all the way down didn’t eliminate the noise entirely, so I had to lower the volume to mask it. While this issue is disappointing, it doesn’t detract too much from its usability for casual listening. If you’re looking for a budget DAC and can work around minor noise issues, this could still be a worthwhile choice.

Absolutely worth it.
If you're using high-end studio-quality headphones, a headphone amp or DAC are absolutely essential for casual istening. Without them, the headphones produce a sound that's weak and flat. It took only one use of this with my Mackie headphones to know that I made the right choice. It brought all the bass, tone, and midrange that the headphones could produce - and the Mackies have 50mm drivers capable of really big sounds. This DAC handles them effortlessly. It's definitely a must-buy for casual listening with high-end headphones.

Mostly good quality.
It's pretty good overall. Sounds fine, good control over the sound, input options etc. However, it does sometimes make a scratchy sound when moving the dial, particularly at the lower levels, and the left/right output is uneven at the lowest levels.Still pretty decent. Probably good as a preamp for your PC or as your DAC.

Great for PS5! UAC 1.0 compliant
I was looking for a DAC that would work on PS5 so I could use my Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 80ohm headphones properly. The controller doesn't really push their drivers, it's just loud enough, with no meaningful bass. But this DAC solved the problem. It seems a lot of the budget friendly DAC's don't have separate treble and bass control like these. That was the selling point for me. They sound great, no static or buzzing, clean sound, bass turned up, just works! I use a Schiit stack on PC, and if I didn't have that, I would've immediately purchased another one of these for PC. I may get another and replace the stack solely because of the treble and bass controls. The stack sounds clean, but some extra bass would be nice, and this would supply it.Package comes with a USB-C cable for power, a Toslink (optical audio cable), and a USB type B cable (type A to type B printer style cable) for USB audio input (for audio out on PS5 in my case).***Huge note: it doesn't come with a charge block, I tried powering it through the PS5 USB port, and tried through my TV's USB port. Both did not supply enough power. Make sure you have a spare charging block that'll properly supply power. You'll know it's getting powered when the red light is on solid when the volume is switched to the on position. When not properly powered, it will lightly blink on and off intermittently. If you're looking for a DAC for use on PS5, I recommend this one all day.

Great little minitor
I bought an expensive USB interface for my computer. It had an optical jack, separate headphone and speaker volume, analog xlr inputs, and multiple outputs. Even though it was a hardware interface it wasn’t configurable or controllable without the software. Well the software didn’t work and so I couldn’t get the optical jack to work, which was 90% or my reason for buying it. AND it was $300. So i sent that back, fortunately a good return policy, and researched getting a headphone amp with an optical input. For the lower price this unit works exactly how I expected, no software needed. With the expensive unit, plugging in the headphones didn’t kill the speakers, so they had to be turned off separately, what a pain! With this unit plugging in the headset kills the speakers for you. The quality throgh the optical jack is stunning, VERY clear. I’m glad I got the interface I needed, and at a MUCH better proice.

Amazing little DAC.
An extremely inexpensive DAC/AMP combo, does the job well. Build quality is really solid, knobs and switch feel sturdy and smooth. Very good product, using it to drive my HD 560s which are considered high impedance headphones, and it’s easily driving them with no issues. 5/5 star product.
