Timken Quality. updated 9/11/2018 one loose and failing. Not OEM quality
To start the review off on aside note. So this is a replacement for a Detroit Axle set of 2 I installed 1 a year or so ago and the other one i replaced 6 to 8 months ago. The detroit set were inexpensive and I figured i would get 30 40 thousand out of them and i would be happy. After 6 months i was starting to get some familiar noise from the front so i replaced the other OEM original 109000 mile bearing and noticed that is was still ok. Said hey it has some miles on it chocked it up good maintenance practice. Noise of course was still there. I ordered this set at that time. The noise slowly got worse, was not loose at all just noisy. Now at 119000 decided was time to take care of this issue. One bearing was very rough and clearly gone. the other i pulled too because they are junk too me. it too had a slight roughness starting and now the 2 fronts are Timken.Update 9/11/2018 is failing and loose.11/29/2016 smooth and quiet as is expected and will repost when able 2008 subaru outTimken bearings have always been a decent bearing. Not sure if these are OEM quality or better but will keep adding feedback. Fit right and initial quality appears great... but so did the D A units. expect close to the same as or more miles out of this kit as OEM My experience with a Quality Aftermarket product is just what I expect. Through the years I found OEM is sometimes a mixed bag. Poor OEM from the beginning build is going to be Poor OEM Replacement parts Just let us know and keep letting us know the goods and bads of every Amazon product. tIn conclusion I wished I had just replace these with a Good OEM fit and not Bad OEM fitment pc. Do it once Do it right plays true unless someone wants to park themselves under the car every weekend. We do have to give these manufacturers feedback as well and say no to poor items. Also Just replace rear drivers w new OEM hub growling and backing plate rusting and dragging. Twice the money but ...?So someone asked about specifics;TIMKEN PART DESCRIPTIONHUB UNIT BEARINGProduct DescriptionTesting indicates consistency of Quality and Performance Over Non-Premium BrandsApplication SummaryFW-AWD SUB Car AD (2008-09), SUB TK AD (2009-09)Additional InformationMSDS Sheet Number DNAMSDS Required Flag NPart Number - Old HA590118Country of Origin (Primary) USHarmonized Tariff Code (Schedule B) 8482105016Life Cycle Status Code 2Taxable NNational Popularity Code CNot sure if this helps.

Update 2/3/2018***
Item fit my 2008 Outback 2.5I fronts perfectly. Item is accurately pictured. Operates flawlessly and silently with no mechanical defects and appears to be very well made upon physical inspection. Time will tell how many miles it will last but as of now I am very pleased with Timken and will be purchasing from them again should the need arise.***UPDATE*** 2/3/2018After just about 3000 miles the front driver side failed. I suspect a factory manufacturing defect. I just happened to be the unlucky individual. The other 3 I ordered and installed are still operating smoothly and whisper quiet. Overall i would still recommend the product as manufacturing margin or error is nothing but a numbers game and plus you cant beat the price per compared to OEM.

fits perfect
Bought one for the driver side 14 months or so ago. I heard noise again, so I thought it was that side doing it again. Bought a pair this time. Driver side was actually good, the passenger side was the noisy side. Not that I like doing extra work, but these are easy enough to do. Car is nice and quiet again.

Good Bearing
Writing a review for this sort of product is a little difficult, since the real test is if it still works in a few years. My local Autozone had two choices, their house brand for $130 or Moog for $180. Timken has a good reputation as a bearing maker. It may not be as good as Moog, but is probably at least as good as Autozone's house brand.Ok, now for the fun part, getting the old hubs out! One came free easily with a few whacks from a heavy hammer, but the other bad bearing was a nightmare. I tried the usual methods, hammer, slide hammer, using the power steering as a hydraulic press, none of them budged it at all. After an afternoon of frustration (and extensive swearing) I gave up on it for the day and had several drinks, during which I came up with a new approach. This works amazingly well, but it requires an impact wrench and an old brake rotor.1: You slide the brake rotor back onto the hub.2: Wedge a short socket between the back surface of the rotor and the mounting point for the brake caliper, so the rotor cannot rest flat against the hub.3: Thread a few lug nuts onto the studs, and tighten them with the impact wrench. This will pull the hub out to meet the rotor.Good luck!Edit: 8,000 miles later, still both fine.

Trash quality
This product was installed on my well-maintained 2006 Subaru Legacy GT in October of 2017. It was installed on the passenger front wheel. Fast forward 2 years and 4 months and 60000 miles. There is now a roaring helicopter noise that developed suddenly over 2 days. I thought it was a bad tire, until I hear the screeching and scraping of metal on metal as I turned sharply left. This bearing was trashed. The other 3 originals at 200000 miles and 14 years are fine, but this one failed in 60000 and 2 years. If you are able to install yourself, this product may be of some value, since money is saved over the dealer part. But I still wouldn’t trust it, ever. What if this thing locks up and causes an accident, and/or strands you somewhere? Get the dealer part and don’t think twice. What a joke that a name brand is such trash quality. Never again.

Buy quality bearings because it's a job you don't want to do twice!
Worked great. But getting the old one off was a beast of a job.
