Initial impressions are very positive
Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint:Build quality and finish are excellent. Installation was easy and everything fits together well. Operation of the lock is exceptionally smooth. Fingerprint and code acceptance responds quickly. App and user maintenance is intuitive and works well. The app does however include a lot of extra "features" that I do not intend to use but cannot be hidden or removed. This is a minor negative and has no impact on lock operation. I did have a minor issue updating firmware and a question about adding an admin user so reached out to customer support. Response was very timely and all was resolved. Time will tell and I have high expectations that this lock will be on my front door to stay. This is not my first experience with smart locks. In comparison, the Ultraloq is preceded by two other "smart" locks that did not work out. First lock was a good lock but suffered one fatal flaw that sent it to the trash. The lock required a Z-wave hub and I had it paired to a Wink hub. Wink turned out to be one of the worst smart products ever produced due to a variety of failures that I won't go into. I also have another Z-wave hub and attempted to pair the lock with that one. The lock would not unpair from the Wink (long gone from my home) and so could not be paired to another hub. Factory reset does not clear the connection and customer support was responsive but no help at all. So much for that one. For our second lock, I tried another major brand. It lasted 6 months. After only 3 months, it started dropping fingerprints. We could add them again but acceptance was flakey at best. By the time it was 6 months old, the outside unit was completely dead (even with new batteries). Only way to lock/unlock at this point was to use a physical key. So much for any smart functionality. Why I chose the Ultraloq: Learned my lesson with the first two locks. 1. Home networking is a well established and perfectly functional system and there should be no need for extra hubs and/or sensors (my opinion). That is reason for selecting a lock that requires no extra hub. 2. Multiple access methods; fingerprint, code, key, phone app. Our second failed lock was fingerprint or key only. Fingerprints can get worn and be difficult to read at times. Codes can be added without the user being present to add a fingerprint. 3. Compatibility with Smart Things and Home Assistant. I am an avid user of Home Assistant for consolidating all of my smart devices into a single application and was able to add the Ultraloq through the Smart Things integration. The interface is limited as it shows only the lock status (locked/unlocked) and battery status (percentage) but that is sufficient and there's always hope of expanding in the future.

Excellent product
I’ve been using this smart WiFi deadbolt for a few weeks now. It has really impressed me with its sturdy build , modern look and super easy to install. The software is user-friendly, and has plenty of features . You can manage the lock and set up notifications for doors being left open or being open manually . Works like a charm. With touchless entry , it’s nice not to have to dig for a keys with your hands full . Love it .

Locked up
I like it. The deadbolt works pretty well. I recommend good batteries and hiding the spare key to the deadbolt someplace safe in case the batteries are dead. It does alert me to jamming which isn't the issue, if the deadbolt doesn't lock smoothly, it reports a jam.

Convenient and Secure Keyless Entry with the Bolt NFC Smart Lock
The media could not be loaded. I have always been skeptical of keyless entries, but after locking myself out of my house several times in the last couple of months, well, I decided I needed to do something!! As a keyless entry solution, it’s incredibly convenient, and the smart features make it stand out from other locks. From remote access to automation capabilities, this lock is packed with everything you could need. One of the things I love most is the ability to lock and unlock remotely using the U-Home app, hey, I'm getting older and need all the help I can get. I can easily share access with family, friends, or service people by sending them a unique eKey or access code, which is perfect when I’m not home. You can also set time-limited access for added security, so no more worrying about who has access when. It’s super easy to manage up to 50 codes and view the lock history in real-time. The notifications I receive through the app when the lock is accessed are very reassuring. Yeah, no one can get in my house now without me knowing!! This lock integrates seamlessly with other smart home systems like Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings, which makes automation super easy. For example, I’ve set up an automation where my lights turn on automatically when I unlock the door—such a convenient feature and nice when it's super dark outside! The auto-lock and auto-unlock functions are fantastic as well. The door sensor ensures that the door locks itself if I forget to do so, and it automatically unlocks when I approach with my smartphone in my pocket. I love that I get an alert if the door is left open. (cough cough, my children) In terms of battery life, I’m impressed that it lasts for up to 10 months with 8 AA batteries. It’s also IP65-rated, which means it can handle dust and weather conditions, making it a great option for both indoor and outdoor use. The lock itself is built to last with ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 certification, meaning it’s highly secure and durable. Lastly, the installation was incredibly easy, which I need as I'm not exactly the most intelligent person in the world. I was able to replace my existing deadbolt in just 10 minutes using a screwdriver—no wiring required! It’s incredibly secure, versatile, and easy to use. If you’re looking for a reliable and high-tech way to control access to your home, this lock is definitely the way to go. Highly recommended!
